Bated Breath colt out of a Noverre mare. 100-30 on debut, when he got loose before the race and was always towards the rear, eventually finishing last of five at Newmarket (6f, good to firm). Should know more about the game this time.

Swiss Spirit colt out of an Oasis Dream mare. 125-1 on debut at Newcastle (5f, AW) last month, when he was slowly away, never on terms and beaten 29L. Much more needed this time.

€30,000 yearling; third foal; half-brother to 7½f winner Hero Hero, out of an unraced sister to Listed-placed 1m-1m2½f winner Seussical. Trainer can have debut winners and is 13% with his 2yos over five seasons. Market check looks prudent.

Third foal; half-brother to 1m-1m2f winner Dubai Icon (inc. at 2); dam a 1m2f/1m4f winning half-sister to 7f-1m2f Group 1 winner Rio De La Plata. Looks the pick of the stable's pair on paper and could make a good debut.

Colt by Dansili, out of a Cape Cross mare. 12-1 on debut at Newbury (7f, good) last month, when he stayed on to be 5L fourth of seven, showing promise. Could be in the hunt for prize money if he can build on that.

50,000gns yearling; third foal; half-brother to 5f 2yo winner Kemble, out of an unraced half-sister to 1m Group 1 winner Toronado. Good stable just a little quiet at present but is 14% over five seasons with 2yo. Respected newcomer.
€80,000 yearling; brother to 7½f 2yo winner Freyja, closely related to three winners and half-brother to another six, out of a 6f 2yo winner. From a prolific family and represents a top yard that is 20% with 2yos over five seasons. Should go well.

58,000gns foal; 90,000gns yearling; eighth foal; half-brother to three winners over 5f-7f, the best being 6f 2yo Listed winner Argentero. Dam unraced half-sister to 6½f Group 1 winner May Ball. Trainer 11% with 2yos over five seasons. Interesting.

40-1, dwelt at the start and was always towards the rear on debut at Wolverhampton (7f, AW) earlier in the month. Can only suggest a watching brief this time.

€45,000 yearling; first foal; dam was Group-placed and a 5f 2yo winning half-sister to 1m 2yo Group 3 winner Blitzkreig. Trainer 14% with 2yos and has a good record here, so she looks one to monitor for any market confidence on debut.

Forecasts

No Recollection (10/3), State Of Bliss (4/1), Commonsensical (9/2), Titan Rock (5/1), Mesopotamia (8/1), One Over Par (17/2), Fancy Man (10/1), Harmony Lil (18/1), Waterloo Sunset (100/1), Erniesmilkcart (150/1)

18:25 Haydock - 18 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Commonsensical is likely to be capable of better than he showed on debut and significant improvement would not surprise, while stablemate Harmony Lil, as well as fellow newcomers Mesopotamia, One Over Par and Titan Rock are all of interest on pedigree and should be monitored for any market confidence. However, the vote goes to another debutant STATE OF BLISS, who represents a top team that does so well with its 2yos and he could be the latest winner from a prolific family.
  1. State Of Bliss
  2. Commonsensical
  3. Mesopotamia
