Well-related 525,000 gns purchase who shaped well until tiring on debut here last month behind Devious Company. Will improve, possibly markedly, and considered.

Knew his job first time up at Newmarket (6f) when finishing second to Creative Force. Built on that when third to The Lir Jet in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. Sets a high standard back down in class.

Red Right Sand
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: C Lee| T: K R Burke
33/1
Half-brother to 6f winner Grey On Post and 1¼m winner Svea, from a good family. Yard can ready a newcomer, and while this is a stiff introduction, he needs a market check.

Dam was runner-up in the Group 2 Princess Margaret Stakes as a 2-y-o, and is a half-sister to smart juvenile La Rioja. Cost 210,000 gns last year, and one to note on debut.

Good second over 5f at Doncaster on debut, but failed to progress when 5L third of 8 to Ubettabelieveit over same track and trip last time. Needs to step up.

Half-brother to three winners, and caught the eye when neck second of 13 to Et Tu Brute in a 6f maiden at Chepstow late last month. Sure to progress, and comes into the reckoning.

Sunset Glow
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: A Kirby| T: C G Cox

Half-brother to 5f/6f winner Chagatai and 5f winner Moondyne Joe (both 2-y-o winners). Yard enjoying a purple patch with its juveniles, so can't be ignored on racecourse bow.

Forecasts

Imperial Force (8/13), Solent Gateway (6/1), Cairn Island (13/2), Rolfe Rembrandt (14/1), Rhythm Master (16/1), Sunset Glow (16/1), Red Right Sand (33/1)

16:55 Haydock - 17 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This looks a warm race of its type, and newcomers Sunset Glow and Rhythm Master in particular need a market check, but the standard set by Norfolk Stakes third IMPERIAL FORCE is a tough one to top, and he will be hard to beat accordingly. Cairn Island weakened as if his debut effort was just needed, and he could improve markedly for that, making him look the most likely danger to the selection.
  1. Imperial Force
  2. Cairn Island
  3. Rhythm Master
