Bred to get a bit further and two starts so far have indicated that he'll do better once his stamina is put under more pressure. Qualifies for a handicap mark after this and unlikely he'll be burdened with an insurmountable mark for the future.

Finished last of 10 on debut at Windsor 10 days ago and needs a massive step forward from that effort to get involved this time. Others hold much stronger claims even at this early stage.

There's a definite leaning to races of 7f and beyond in the colt's pedigree and his debut run at Kempton last month did little to enhance his profile. He's got time to learn but seems destined to make more of an impact in handicaps at a later stage.

Winners over this trip in his bloodlines but disconcerting his connections opt to use a visor after two modest performances up to press. That said, he took a good look around at Redcar last time so it's possible he can improve with headgear applied.

Beat just one horse home on debut at Newmarket in early June but ran way above market expectations at Windsor three weeks later. That form has taken a knock since but this does lack strength in depth so a market move could be interesting.

Finished last in both previous starts and needs to be transformed for the fitting of blinkers today. Probably safe to leave out of any betting plans.

30,000 yearling; he's a half-brother to Group 3 winner Gustavus Weston; his dam was bred to be effective when racing over a mile, billing which she lived up to with three wins on the AW over the trip. A leading contender from a top yard.

Cost just £7,000; his dam, who is out of a sister to useful sprinter Wi Dud, won over 1m on turf during her time. Debut run was a moderate effort and she struggled to keep tabs from the halfway stage (6f, good to firm). Others readily preferred.

30,000 yearling that has shown promise in both previous starts; debuted in an AW maiden over 7f before finishing third of eight here (also 7f) last month. The betting can guide as to expectations now she tries 6f for the first time.

Finished just in front of Run Forrest Run at Windsor last month, which was a big step forward from his debut outing at Kempton 12 days earlier. Seems to be getting the hang of things and looks a likely type for a race of this nature. Shortlisted.

Horse silk

Got loose before her debut here last month but still showed a bit of promise; she did hang under pressure that day but might have had a valid excuse. Needs a big improvement but she looks the better option of the yard's four intended runners.

A sixties icon filly whose dam was placed over 5f-6f as juvenile; represents a yard with the capability to have one ready but in reality there would be no surprise to see the filly improve for today's racecourse bow. The betting can help.

Struggled to go the pace on debut at Windsor (5f, good to firm) earlier this month and already has improvement to find. The betting will be useful as to where she stands with her three stablemates.

SIMPLY AMAZING won't need to be anything special to get off the mark at the first time of asking. He's been found a weak opening to pitch his skills. Isle Of Lismore, as the only previous winner in the race, is the obvious and safest alternative if the betting market produces negative vibes about the selection. Of the rest: Cliffcake has a race withing him and appeals as one to keep tabs on from here, while Study The Stars and Run Forrest Run were closely matched on debut and can make this an interesting scrap for the places. Baroness Rachael got loose before her debut but should be now wiser and can also go close.
  1. Simply Amazing
  2. Isle Of Lismore
  3. Cliffcake
