Best effort came when narrow second at Dundalk (7f) during the winter but no show in two starts to date, including 14L defeat at Cork (7f) this month. Plenty more is needed now.

Very smart winner of Gowran handicap (1m1f) on seasonal reappearance and didn't entirely disgrace herself off 11lb higher mark at Navan (1m2f) last time. Marked drop in trip but holds place claims.

Ran with credit a lot of the time last season and showed his wellbeing when 1L fourth in 7f Cork handicap this month. Quickly turned out off same mark. Dangerously poised.

Two starts for this yard have yielded little. Well down the field in Dundalk handicap (1m2f) four days ago and very hard to make a case for in this.

Ran well in handicaps last term when trained in Britain but struggling over here. 18L last of 14 at Navan (5f) this month and now steps back up in trip. Major bounce back needed.

Has only won once but tends to run with great credit, including neck defeat at Dundalk (7f) on Sunday. Turned out quickly and shortlisted if he replicates that effort.

Remains a maiden after five starts but bumped into some smart sorts. Didn't entirely stay the 1m in Naas Handicap last month but showed enough promise to suggests he can be competitive in this. Contender now down in trip.

Had been very much struggling for this yard but found marked improvement when narrow winner of 1m handicap at this track last month. Up 5lb for that so handicapper is taking no chances.

Remains winless for this handler after countless amounts of starts, but ran with some credit when second over C&D at the start of the month. Goes off the same mark in this and place claims if replicating that form.

Absent for mammoth amount of time but looks to be better than ever. Second in both starts this term, including at Naas (1m) last month . Not penalised for that effort and looks set to go well once more.

Racing with some promise of late without really threatening the principles. Only beaten 4L into sixth at Gowran (1m) last week however and some each-way claims if replicating that.

Lightly-raced for his age but showing very little. Beaten over 8L in Dundalk claimer (1m) on last appearance in November and looks to be up against it in this.

100/1 second on seasonal reappearance and holding mark since, albeit not troubling the winners. Last seen finishing 5L seventh at Gowran (1m) last week and likely to need a little bit more now.

Very admirable veteran but has showed signs of age catching up with him lately. Latest tenth of 14 at Limerick (6f) demands more, which is unlikely to come at his age.

Entering advancing years as a 48-race maiden. Ran accordingly with 150/1 odds at Naas (6f) last month and likely to face a near-impossible task once again.

Long-standing maiden who isn't really offering much. Only beaten 4L in Tipperary handicap (5f) last month but this trip is a venture into the unknown. Limited appeal.

17:15 Leopardstown - 16 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A host of horses in this are shaping as if a winning effort is around the corner, and preference is for CAESAR'S COMET to follow up on an encouraging run last time. The six-year-old put his best foot forward that day but remains to be well-treated by the handicapper and should be better suited to this sharper 7f than he faced at Cork. Similar claims can be made for Silk Cravat, who was agonisingly defeated at Dundalk four days ago but the quick turnaround is of some concern, while the likes of Accladora and Rince Deireanach are closely matched at the weights and on consistent and similarly are getting a chance to improve once more by the handicapper, so they cannot be entirely discounted.
  1. Caesar's Comet
  2. Accladora
  3. Silk Cravat
