Interesting newcomer. By Territories. Cost £80,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to 7f two-year-old winner Sea Shack. Represents powerful connections and of interest if popular in the betting.

Acclamation colt. Sales price rose from 39,000gns as a foal to 44,000gns as a yearling. Full brother to the smart 5f-6f 'Listed' winner Justice Day. Should have a future, but this is a very deep race to start off in.

Upped half a furlong in trip after displaying evident promise to run on into fourth late in the day at Limerick (6f150y; good). Stable starting to have winners now after a slow start to the season. Each-way player.

Shaped as though the step up to 7f would be well within his compass when third on debut at Naas (6f; yielding to soft) last week. Form of that race is open to question, but the winner could be a nice type. Place claims.

Uneasy in the market just before the off at Bellewstown (1m; yielding). Ran as you would expect from this source on their first day at the races. Should be all the better with that experience under his belt, and a bold bid is expected.

Finished a close-up fourth on debut at Navan (5f; yielding) when short of room in the closing stages. Step up in trip should bring out some improvement, and looks the pick of the two Joseph O'Brien runners at least on form.

Made a highly promising debut when running on into fourth after being hampered at a crucial stage of the race over C&D. Form of that contest boosted by the runner-up during the week. Leading claims with a trouble free passage this time round.

Lawman gelding. 7,000gns yearling. Dam an unraced half-sister to 1m Group One winner Fallen For You. Pedigree looks attractive but stable yet to properly get going so far this season, and a surprise if he was good enough to feature on debut.

Son of Lawman. €20,000 yearling. Gelded ahead of debut. Half-brother to eight winners including two-year-old 'Listed' winner Sceptre Rouge and 1m-1m4f 'Listed winner Marquix. Looks a nice sort, but yard not renowned for having winning newcomers.

€105,000 yearling by the first crop of crack two-year-old Air Force Blue. Yard 6-21 over past 14 days (29% strike-rate) and interesting to see if money arrives for this newcomer in what appears to be an open race.

Could never really get seriously involved on debut at the Curragh (5f; good to firm) over the minimum trip. Steps up to 7f which should suit better given her half-sister was a 7f winner. Needs to step up on debut effort but that is possible.

Improvement required after she finished midfield (sent off 100-1) on debut over 7f at this track. Difficult to make a case for on that evidence, and likely to be more competitive in handicap sphere.

Fast Company filly. €43,000 yearling. Half-sister to two useful winners in the form of Three Saints Bay & Barbill (who won a 'Listed' contest as a two-year-old). Form of the yard is of major concern, but any market support for her should be noted.

Hung violently right at Bellewstown (1m; yielding) when finishing a well-beaten ninth of nine. This is a stronger race than that assignment and so she cannot be recommended at all. Perhaps she will be of more interest when entering handicaps.

Ran to another good level when third over C&D recently. This race appears to be of similar strength on paper, so if she turns up in similar form it would be a surprise if she didn't hit the frame at the very least.

Forecasts

Noble Seal (15/8), Meala (7/2), Vafortino (11/2), Ebeneezer Perry (6/1), Procellarum (10/1), San Martino (11/1), Rebel Step (25/1), Royal Blend (33/1), Flying Rock (33/1), She's Good Company (66/1), Montenotte (80/1), Rich Law No Law (80/1), Our Secret Pearl (100/1), The Casino King (100/1), Chummie (100/1)

14:00 Leopardstown - 11 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

After enduring a luckless passage on debut over C&D, NOBLE SEAL did well to make such rapid late headway into fourth. The form of that contest has been given a boost after the runner-up went one better during the week. He looks the most likeliest winner, but San Martino is greatly respected given he is likely to improve notably from his fourth-placed effort at Bellewstown when not given a hard time of things. Another one to consider is Meala given she has ran a couple of solid races to date and receives weight from all her rivals, including when third over C&D last time, while the most interesting newcomer is the Air Force Blue colt Flying Rock whose team are in-form.
  1. Noble Seal
  2. San Martino
  3. Meala
