Useful hurdler, has shown a preference for good ground but this trip might be a little on the short side for him. Only had the one start over fences when a remote second here in February, so unexposed, but needs to be foot perfect here.
Classy handicap chaser at his peak and despite the advancing years, still has plenty to offer based on a few of his efforts last year. This trip and ground ideal and yard's horses running fine after the break, so one to consider.
Yet to hit the frame in four chase starts and probably not the easiest of conveyances, often hangs. Is at least unexposed and open to improvement for a yard that do well with these types, so watch market is the advice.
No spring chicken but came back from a year's absence to score nicely at Kelso last September, so can win fresh. Likely conditions look ideal and whilst others may have more scope to improve, he is more solid than a few.
Three wins in 16 starts over fences and has a decent record at the track, a place and a win from two starts here. Not easy to catch right and can idle in front, but mark looks fair enough and if fit after absence, has a chance.
Just the one win in 15 starts, that coming in a three-runner chase at Huntingdon last May, but he often looks like hard work and wasn't progressing when last seen. Possible that fresh is the time to catch him, but he's risky.
Regressive over hurdles and looks hard work, often hanging under pressure, and needs this switch of codes to rejuvenate him. With a top yard and condiitons probably fine but comes with a lot of risk now, and others preferred.
Rattled off a four timer over hurdles/fences last year before disappointing on final start in November, not seen since. Faces tougher company now but at least knows where the winning post is and conditions should be fine for him.
Winner over hurdles off 3lb higher but struggled for much of last year, however trainer reports him in good health now and is unexposed over fences. Trip ideal and won't mind any rain, so one of the more interesting ones.
Forecasts
Bbold (10/3), Monsieur D'Arque (7/2), Lucky Robin (9/2), Dogon (11/2), Cesar Du Gouet (7/1), Dandridge (9/1), Honourable Gent (16/1), Beautiful Ben (25/1), Marmont (40/1)
MARMONT has been reported in very good order by his trainer and is on a very fair mark if he can now operate without any physical issues. The ground should be ideal for him and the trip no problem, so is worth a small bet. Cesar Du Gouet is as tricky to catch right as they come, but it's possible that fresh might be the time, and he might be the main danger. Old boys Dandridge and Honourable Gent both hold place chances.
