Age: 7|  Weight: 11-7| J: Callum Bewley| T: A C Whillans| OR:  125| D
10/3
Better known as a chaser but won a novice hurdle at Carlisle in March. Came down early in a chase at Southwell earlier in the month but now reverts to hurdles. No easy task under a penalty.

9/2
Useful stayer on the Flat (rated 76) and has shown plenty of ability in two starts over hurdles, good fourth at Doncaster in January (2m). Looks to hold a leading chance here.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: S Bowen| T: P & M Bowen
100/1
Readily held in two starts, a bumper and a maiden hurdle at Southwell earlier in the month. Looks to need more time.

For Pleasure15
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Kielan Woods| T: A M Hales| OR:  109
13/2
Has had a couple of pipe-openers on the Flat recently so is fit for this, but raced too keenly for own good when readily held over hurdles at Doncaster in February. Capable of better once settling.

Marine One274
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: Dr R D P Newland| OR:  117
2/1
One win in 21 starts, became disappointing on the Flat but has some form at a low level over hurdles (for Denis Hogan). Has now joined new yard who do well with these types, but no good thing on debut for them.

Motaraabet189
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Ross Chapman| T: L Morgan
20/1
Showed a bit of ability in four starts on the Flat for Owen Burrows and may not have stayed 3m on debut for this yard over hurdles at Musselburgh in January. May do better now dropped back in trip, but plenty to find on form.

Red Caravel9
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: J Kington| T: Stef Keniry
200/1
Moderate on the Flat and pulled up no trees on hurdles debut at Southwell earlier in the month. No realistic chance here.

Urban Legend378
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: B S Hughes| T: B Ellison
20/1
Point-to-point winner in the summer of 2019 but was soon seen off after a mid-race mistake at Cartmel on hurdles debut the month after. Not seen since and likely to need the run.

Horse silk
Cormier130
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Alain Cawley| T: B Ellison
80/1
Regressive at middle distances on the Flat and was showing little when last seen, so needs the switch of codes to have a major effect on him.

Crimson King17
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Charlie Hammond(3)| T: M Appleby| BF
40/1
Just the one win in 19 starts on the Flat but has ability and the scope for hurdles. Stays 12f well on the Flat but probably needs a sound surface. Watch market for an indicator of what's expected.

No Thanks274
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: David England| T: O Murphy
14/1
One win in 12 starts on the Flat for William Jarvis, has now joined red-hot Olly Murphy yard for debut over hurdles today. Stays 14f, probably wants ground no worse than good but from yard in such good form, is respected.

Absolute Jaffah,t1261
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-7| J: Henry Brooke| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR:  107WS
10/1
Best effort over hurdles so far came over this C&D last September when she bumped into an improver. Has had wind surgery and now gets a tongue-tie, both of which should help her finishing effort (has finished weakly).

Forecasts

Marine One (2/1), Cracking Destiny (10/3), Bear Valley (9/2), For Pleasure (13/2), Absolute Jaffa (10/1), No Thanks (14/1), Motaraabet (20/1), Urban Legend (20/1), Crimson King (40/1), Cormier (80/1), Easy Bucks (100/1), Red Caravel (200/1)

12:00 Market Rasen - 10 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

There are some interesting recruits to the hurdling game here, not least No Thanks and Marine One, but neither of those will want much more rain and the vote goes to BEAR VALLEY, who showed more than enough on his close fourth at Doncaster last year to think there are races in him. Cracking Destiny has a penalty to carry but won't mind the ground, and has chances. Absolute Jaffa has a good effort over C&D to her name and getting the allowances, shouldn't be dismissed.
  1. Bear Valley
  2. Cracking Destiny
  3. No Thanks
