Age: 6|  Weight: 12-0| J: S A Mulcahy(7)| T: D Hogan
25/1
Well held on the AW at Dundalk at the turn of the years before a number of below par efforts over hurdles in January/February. In the right hands to make improvement.
2
Horse silk
Belfast Banter21
Age: 5|  Weight: 12-0| J: K C Sexton| T: Peter Fahey| OR:  125| D
10/3
Winner of a Newton Abbot bumper around this time last year when in the care of trainer Dan Skelton. Has so far failed to build on a promising debut effort over timber at Navan in December. Needs to bounce back.
3
Horse silk
Bentham16
Age: 6|  Weight: 12-0| J: J M Moore| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  121| BF| CD
11/10
Course winner that has also won over a similar trip. Well backed on return to action in a Limerick 2m maiden hurdle last month only to go down by 2L. Clearly doing well.
4
Horse silk
200/1
Winner of three of his 15 career starts in France but out of luck last year in four starts for trainer Vicky Haigh. 125/1 on stable debut at Roscommon last month, rider losing irons early on. Tough ask.

Horse silk
Jazz Toes16
Age: 5|  Weight: 12-0| J: Liam McKenna(7)| T: Colm Murphy| D
66/1
Off the mark for connections on his third start in a Clonmel bumper last September. Well beaten and no impact on hurdling debut at Limerick last month, finishing well down the field.

Age: 9|  Weight: 12-0| J: P T Enright| T: E J O'Grady
40/1
Decent 94-rated handicapper on the Flat. Well beaten in a couple of starts over hurdles so far, including on return to action at Limerick last month.

Age: 5|  Weight: 12-0| J: L P Dempsey| T: P W Flynn
28/1
Winner on the AW at Dundalk over the winter, holding his form between December and March. Seventh of eight runners at Gowran Park on the Flat last month. One to watch in the market on hurdling debut.

The Broghie Manp1140
Age: 5|  Weight: 12-0| J: J S McGarvey| T: P Roche| OR:  120
5/2
Needs to get out of the habit of finishing second with the gelding runner-up on three occasions over hurdles since the turn of the year. Six-race maiden over timber, first-time cheekpieces may be the final piece in the jigsaw.
9
Horse silk
Tio Estebanh17
Age: 5|  Weight: 12-0| J: M J Bolger| T: W J Martin
80/1
Won on synthetic surfaces in Britain and Ireland during the winter and returned from absence not disgraced in a couple of spins on the Flat at Leopardstown. First-time hood on for hurdling debut.
€38,000 3-y-o out of an unraced half-sister to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Native River. Needs to rediscover the form of his run at Roscommon in September. Yard do well at this venue in July, saddled a winner in Eagle Moon here earlier this month.
11
Horse silk
66/1
Getaway gelding out of a Witness Box mare. Well beaten on point-to-point debut in January when sent off the 2/1f. Possibly best watched on hurdling debut.
12
Horse silk
Gondor16
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-6| J: M P Fogarty| T: Colm Murphy
100/1
Ask gelding. Tailed off on dismal debut in a Down Royal bumper earlier this year in January before a similar outcome on hurdling debut at Limerick last month. Hard to place any faith in.
Gelding by September Storm. Well beaten in four point-to-point starts between November 2018 and when last seen in March. Unlikely to be troubling the judge on debut here.
14
Horse silk
Mezyan16
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-6| J: B J Cooper| T: J J Hanlon
125/1
Well beaten and never a factor in a couple of maiden hurdle starts so far, sent off at odds of 100/1 on each occasion which tells it's own story.

13:00 Bellewstown - 8 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

THE BROGHIE MAN can finally get off the mark for connections at the seventh time of asking. The gallant gelding has finished runner-up on his last three starts in big-runner maidens, two of them producing future winners. There will be still a good number in opposition here including, the Gavin Cromwell-trained Bentham, well backed last time out on return to action at Limerick, only to be beaten 2L in the 16-runner race. Belfast Banter representing trainer Peter Fahey can emerge as a big danger, along with Arthur Fonzarelli for trainer Henry De Bromhead, who likes a winner here in the month of July.
  1. The Broghie Man
  2. Bentham
  3. Arthur Fonzarelli
