Fair third here over 6f after eight-months off on first start as a 3yo, bettered that effort last time. First-time cheekpieces (retained) having a positive effect at Windsor (6.1f, firm), finished second (up with pace), off same mark here back to 5f.

Improved on her first effort of the season when taking a Beverley 5f affair on quick ground, making full use of a good draw. Both her wins have now come over the same C&D, up 6lb for that success, she ought to be able to be competitive again.

Dual 5f AW winner as a 2yo he shaped as though he would be better for the run when fifth on his reappearance over this trip at Kempton. Yet to win on turf (has been placed), 3lb lower, tried in a tongue-tie for the first-time, others appeal more.

Hardly lightly-raced for one of his age; dual 2yo 5f turf winner, looks as though the handicapper is in charge. All three runs this year are of a similar nature, ran well in a less-competitive affair last time, mark unchanged, others better treated.

Wide draw not helpful to his cause, remains a maiden having been beaten at short odds a few times (three as favourite). Respectable fourth on return at Newmarket over 6f (race has produced winners), had plenty of opportunities to break his maiden.

In good form earlier in the year winning back-to-back AW 5f starts looking a better sort in doing so. Failed to complete an AW hat-trick before returning from a break at Haydock (5f, good), struggled there, doubts remain about his turf effectiveness.

The sole handicap newcomer; unsuited by testing conditions when last seen over 6f, her earlier form suggesting she was capable of better. Reappears with more potential than most back over 5f with a good draw, quicker ground to work with, shortlisted.

5f novice winner as a 2yo, took step back in the right direction when fourth to Kendred Soul last time at Beverley (5f, good/firm). Raced wide on that occasion (not punished), well-handicapped on the best of her 2yo form, wide draw to overcome.

Fair form as a 2yo, beaten favourite three time though when with Kevin Ryan. First run for this yard showed some promise (given considerate ride) at Newmarket (6f, good/soft), just behind Dark Silver, could do better, market watch advised.

Finished third (Kendred Soul, behind) when taking third on 5f AW reappearance, prior to having every chance over 5f at Beverley last time. Looks capable off this mark but indications are that he would do better over 6f in future (only run over 5f).

At first glance most of these look exposed for a 3yo handicap which sees just one in Reviette making her handicap debut. She shaped with promise as a 2yo and enters the picture here with a good draw. Both Dark Silver and Baltic State emerged from a Newmarket race where they finished 4th and 5th respectively with credit, that race working out well with three next time out winners. Both of that duo would have chances and Baltic State in particular should be noted in the market. BALANCING ACT has to reverse last time out form with stablemate Kendred Soul and could have been better drawn but she showed lots of promise at Beverley and the handicapper could be underestimating her mark.
  1. Balancing Act
  2. Reviette
  3. Baltic State
