Sole turf win came over C&D on soft ground two seasons ago. She has improved since then, adding two Southwell wins to her CV, although her turf form tailed off as last season went on. Can go well fresh, so can't dismiss her with 7lb claimed.
Another whose only win came over C&D (good to soft), in his case this time last year, when 3lb lower. Inconsistent, exposed and also below par last time, but if bouncing back he'd be a threat from this mark. Visor now added.
Four-time winner over 5f-6f who likes to get his toe in. Scored from 3lb higher last season, so this is very much a handy mark again, but he will have to put to rights two pretty ordinary recent efforts to take advantage.
Triple sprint winner on good or fast ground, all three successes coming last season. Now 3lb lower than the best of them, so he is another on a feasible mark, and looks to be going the right way again this season. Interesting.
Improved on two moderate efforts with a much more promising run when beaten just a short head into third at 100-1 in a Thirsk maiden (6f, good) last month. Has to prove that was no fluke, and if it wasn't, this looks a workable mark.
Prolific winner, particularly when there has been cut in the ground. Back on the same mark as her last success at Nottingham (5f, heavy) in November (for Eric Alston), so no surprise to see a much better effort than her first two for this trainer.
Has won nine races over 5f-7f. Appears to act on any ground, although hasn't won when it has been slower than good to soft. 3lb lower than his latest win at Catterick last September and looked to be coming to hand last time. Not ruled out.
Dual Musselburgh winner over 5f who has also gone very close over C&D. Returns to action on a very competitive mark and has won when fresh, so can't be written off despite some moderate efforts late last season.
Sole win came in a Leicester maiden (6f, soft) on his second career start when with Charlie Appleby in 2014. Has only managed 10 runs since, and no encouragement in this season's two efforts. Cheekpieces go on.
Forecasts
Compton's Finale (13/8), Somewhere Secret (4/1), See My Baby Jive (13/2), Hard Solution (17/2), Honey Gg (11/1), Lydiate Lady (14/1), B Fifty Two (14/1), Northern Society (16/1), Star Citizen (22/1)
Compton's Finale would be a big player if the visor can spark him back into life, but we just prefer to side with SEE MY BABY JIVE, who took a good step forward at Thirsk and enters handicaps on what could now be a handy mark. Hard Solution doesn't have his ideal conditions, but is still not dismissed, while others of interest are Honey Gg, Lydiate Lady and B Fifty Two.
