Dubawi colt made pleasing start when second at Newbury (7f, good) this month (winner sent off second-fav for the Chesham since). Hard to envisage anything but a bold bid here with natural improvement expected.

€70,000 yearling by crack sire Sea The Moon the first foal out of a Listed-placed winner in Germany. Yard always have their share of juvenile winners so one to watch in the market.

Son of Oasis Dream cost 87,000gns as a foal but only 38,000gns as a yearling. Full brother to 6f-7f winner Gale Force Ten (inc at 2/AW/Group 3) and half-brother to three additional winners. Speedily enough bred to merit respect.

By speed influence Camacho but dam side of pedigree hints 7f will be within his range. Led for 4f of his debut over 6f on the Rowley Mile before eventually he finished third of six. Showed enough there to be considered.

Nathaniel colt who cost 38,000 euros as a yearling. Finished second of six behind a useful looking Mark Johnston newcomer on debut at Kempton over 7f and the way he recovered from a slow start suggested he can only improve.

Second foal of dam who won over 1m3f and went on to score over hurdles. Finished eighth of 12 on debut at Kempton (7f) making minor late headway. Probably more a handicap prospect.

Son of Markaz cost €11,000 as a yearling out of a dam placed over 5f at 2. Speed in pedigree but yard record with two-year-olds suggests a watching brief.

Lone filly in the field finished third of four at Doncaster on debut beaten 10½L last month. Can improve on that but highly unlikely to go close here.

Forecasts

Al Watan (5/4), Recovery Run (7/4), Arsonist (5/1), Final Voyage (9/1), Don't Look Back (28/1), Rwanda Mist (100/1), Silver Nemo (100/1), Steely Queen (125/1)

17:10 Chelmsford City - 4 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The majority of these have run and several of those to have done have shown enough to suggest they can pick up a race of this nature sooner rather than later. The vote goes to Godolphin colt AL WATAN who ran well in a race at Newbury which was probably a little deeper than this on debut and the switch to Polytrack is unlikely to cause him any problems. Kempton second Recovery Run and Newmarket third Final Voyage look the two biggest dangers unless a newcomer shows up prominently.
  1. Al Watan
  2. Recovery Run
  3. Final Voyage
