5/4
Dual C&D novice chase winner, smart handicap chaser at best, last win came off 2lb lower at Ayr (16.5f, good/firm) early 2019. Little impact off higher marks in 2019/20, looked totally out of sorts on AW recently after another wind op, best watched.

17/2
Useful front-running chaser (best around 2m), also won over hurdles and on Flat (given a tune-up in that sphere last week). Won twice last year at Cartmel and Sedgefield (beat small fields each time), yet to win in field this size or in this grade.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-10| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: J & A O'Neill| OR:  132| BF| D
16/1
Useful hurdler (5-12), yet to put it all together over fences in four attempts although unlucky not to win at Newton Abbot (second chasing start, fell last). Below-par when last seen at Kempton (18f, good), jumped poorly, needs to bounce back.

9/2
Made a terrific start to life with this yard winning over fences/hurdles within four starts. Recent spin on the Flat (debut in that sphere) will have tuned him up for this, strong travelling sort who should win more races over fences, shortlisted.

66/1
Three-time hurdles winner for Keith Dalgleish, also showed promise over fences in a couple of starts at this trip (runner-up both times). Ended his season on a downbeat note over hurdles, now starts afresh for a new yard back over larger obstacles.

Age: 9|  Weight: 11-4| J: James Best| T: M Keighley| OR:  126| D
14/1
Handicapper reacted harshly to his Ludlow (16f, good) chasing win soon after joining this yard; struggled to follow up off higher marks. Given a chance by the handicapper post wind op/break when last seen over hurdles, back on last winning mark.

Ballyvic Boru131
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-1| J: B S Hughes| T: B Ellison| OR:  123| DWS
10/1
Hovering just above his last winning mark, just undergone his third wind surgery having run below-par off higher marks since his October Wetherby (15.2f, good/soft) win. Struggled in a jumpers' bumper when last seen, questions to answer.

Ontopoftheworldp124
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-1| J: James Bowen| T: P & M Bowen| OR:  123| D
28/1
Five-time handicap chase winner 2018/19 beating small fields each time (only 15 rivals in total), handicapper eventually catching up with him. Shaped as if needing the run after 14 months off when last seen; has to learn to cope with a bigger field.

Isaac Wonder17
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-11| J: Brendan Powell| T: M Scudamore| OR:  119| D
12/1
Put the experience of his chasing debut to good use when successful at Warwick (16.3f, good/soft) in September (off 4lb lower mark). Failed to repeat that winning form at Wincanton soon after, creditable recent Flat effort (33-1) at Goodwood (12f).

Grania O'Malley114
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-5| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR:  113| CD
16/1
C&D winner over hurdles, her sole chasing win came at Ffos Las (16f, good/soft) beating a small field with more authority than the winning margin suggested. Couple of decent efforts subsequently, poor last two starts (jumping looked questionable).

33/1
Fair form in chases in a lower grade having been quickly sent over fences after joining this yard from France. Only raced around 2m, failed to make an impact in a jumpers' bumper when last seen, never tested in this grade before, faces a stiff task.

Horse silk
Atlantic Stormt196
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-3| J: Charlie Hammond(3)| T: B R Summers| OR:  111| CD
33/1
C&D winner off this mark just over two years ago, added two chase wins since then the latest at Stratford (17f, good) in September. Form since then very uneven, produced one of his lesser efforts when last seen at Newbury, this looks a tough return.

12:35 Southwell - 1 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This is far more like it for jumps fans who have been starved of action a good 2m handicap chase that should be run at a good pace thanks to the front-running Tonto’s Spirit whose recent Haydock Flat run will have tuned him up nicely for this although he’s yet to win a handicap over fences. Tidal Watch has potential for this sphere although he’s yet to quite fit all the pieces together over fences and the progressive CRACKING DESTINY looks to have been found a good opportunity. A strong-travelling sort he should enjoy this test after a recent Flat outing off a mark that he still looks on the right side of. Goldencard for a new yard and Capital Force are two others that deserve respect.
