Horse silk
Bothar Dubh126
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-10| J: S D Torrens(7)| T: D Queally| OR:  132
10/1
Solid and consistent winner of four of his 14 starts over hurdles; running with credit in defeat in a number of starts between September and November but inexplicably poor run last time at Punchestown; faster ground may help.
2
Horse silk
Cuneop143
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-10| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: H De Bromhead| OR:  132
17/2
Winner of two of his 10 starts over hurdles but the gelding has been badly out of form in a number of starts over both fences and timber since returning to action in November; bounce back needed.
3
Horse silk
Everybreathyoutake103
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-9| J: Keith Donoghue| T: G Elliott| OR:  131| C
10/1
Won three times last summer - Downpatrick (2m5½f), Roscommon (2m5f) & Killarney (2m7f); last two performances were below par but no surprise if back to form here.
4
Horse silk
Mine Now130
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-7| J: Mr S Perry(7)| T: Peter Fahey| OR:  129
80/1
Veteran who is without a win over hurdles since 2017; has been kept busy without success in point-to-points of late; reasonably handicapped so no shock if he puts in a solid performance.
5
Horse silk
Get Out The Gatet1127
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| OR:  128| BF
3/1
Out of form since winning a novice chase over 3m at Perth (good) in May last year; first run for new connections and difficult to assess how effective he will be back over hurdles.
6
Horse silk
Oscar Academy103
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: J M Moore| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  128
9/2
Successful in his first two starts over hurdles; possibly aimed too high when sent to Cheltenham for a Grade 1 event last time; interesting how he fares on first start in a handicap.
7
Horse silk
Dorans Rivert300
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-4| J: K J Brouder| T: S J Mahon| OR:  126| C
40/1
Ballinrobe winner (2m5½f) in July; struggled on latest appearance after a rise in the weights; likely to struggle here again especially as never really proved himself over this trip.
8
Horse silk
Static Jack263
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-2| J: C P McNamara(5)| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  124| BF
14/1
Was in fair form last summer, a win at Killarney being the highlight; last seen pulling up in a chase contest at Gowran Park in October; could do with some relief from the handicapper.
9
Horse silk
Clondaw Nativep108
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: D F O'Regan| T: G Elliott| OR:  121
33/1
One from 10 over hurdles, the sole success coming in a maiden three years ago at Ascot when in the hands of trainer Stuart Edmunds; has shown little for new connections and best watched at present.
10
Horse silk
Ballymacaw101
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-11| J: Mr D Kiely(7)| T: J Halley| OR:  119
15/2
Kilbeggan bumper winner in July, ran well in defeat on hurdling debut in a Tramore maiden in August; failed to build on that until scoring well at Limerick in March; open to more improvement and one to consider.
11
Horse silk
Sweet Home Chicago286
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-11| J: Sean O'Keeffe(5)| T: C Bowe| OR:  119
18/1
Not the most consistent these days but put in one of his better recent performances on penultimate start at Galway when finishing 2nd in a competitive heat; edging down handicap so not without a chance.
12
Horse silk
Cooldine Bog122
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-10| J: C A Landers(5)| T: A Slattery| OR:  118
11/1
Only an occasional hurdler these days; last seen over timber struggling at Galway last July; reasonably consistent over the smaller obstacles so no forlorn hope.
13
Horse silk
Cusp Of Carabelli209
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-8| J: Sean Flanagan| T: D M O'Brien| OR:  116
18/1
Mostly consiotent over hurdles and of late over fences; must race from 10lb higher than his last winning mark but should give a good account of himself and worth a check in the betting.
14
Horse silk
Kilkishenp255
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-8| J: B J Cooper| T: J J Hanlon| OR:  116| D
16/1
Generally consistent over hurdles and fences last season but often let down by some sketchy jumping; not won over hurdles since 2016.

19:10 Roscommon - 24 June 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Quite a competitive affair and the nod goes the way of top weight BOTHAR DUBH. The seven-year-old was in consistent form last season before disappointing in heavy ground at Punchestown on his final start: With ground conditions more likely to be in his favour he is taken to get back to winning ways. Oscar Academy was last seen at the Cheltenham Festival down the field in a Grade 1 contest. He may have got in here on a reasonable mark and strong market support would be encouraging. Ballymacaw could still be progressing and if putting his best foot forward has an excellent chance of following up his March maiden hurdle win.
  1. Bothar Dubh
  2. Oscar Academy
  3. Ballymacaw
