Took advantage of a fine 2019 start (won first two races over 6f) to produce a career-best in this with a second to Blue Point. Failed generate that level of form again in three Group 1 starts, ran well below-par when last seen over C&D, now gelded.

Smart performer, both wins last year coming at Haydock over 6f, the second at Group 1 level (beat The Tin Man ½L). Beaten both times over C&D in Group 1 company (hard to pull off usual prominent tactics), connections would rather this was at Haydock.

Thrashed a very strong Stewards' Cup field as a 3yo having shown some smart form prior to winning that top-class handicap. Form figures of 700 at this level are disappointing (run poorly over C&D twice); ground something of a concern, watching brief.

C&D winner when making all to cause a 28-1 Group 1 shock in October 2018 (had also run well over C&D at Group 1 level before). Lightly-raced since, nowhere near his previous form in four 2019 starts, hard to see him springing another shock.

Well-bred sort, cost £2,800 as 3yo, made hay on AW at Dundalk 5f/6f improving leaps and bounds in maiden/handicaps. Impressive on turf debut at Naas bolting up in 5½f Listed contest, highest-rated Irish sprinter, unproven on ground or at this level.

Dual 3yo winner at 7f producing his best performance in a York Group 2 (travelled well, held on narrowly from Laurens). Beaten favourite in two subsequent starts (hard York race may have left a mark); move back to 6f looks interesting scenario.

Finished fourth in this last year (C&D winner when trained by Marco Botti), won at Listed/Group 3 level after that outing. Ran with credit on recent return, Group 3 over 7f, likely to come up short again at this level however, others make more appeal

Winner of this in 2017 (has a 8146 record in race); two of his three Group 1 wins have come over this C&D but not getting any younger. Less consistent than he used to be, only one good run last year at this level, hard to recommend on balance.

Progressed via handicaps last year winning twice over 7f before making all to win the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster (7f, good/firm). Good second on return to sprinting (beaten 1L by progressive Oxted) in Group 3, this requires far more.

Back-to-back wins in the 7f Group 1 Prix de la Foret sealing her place as a very smart performer. Ran a cracker in Champions Sprint here last October (runner-up, hampered start), well suited by a stiff 6f on soft, strong traveller, leading chance.

Winners of this race have come from around the globe but it may pay to look closer to home this year with the versatile mare ONE MASTER the suggestion. She has run well in all her Ascot starts from 6f-1m, just touched off over this trip when last seen after finding trouble in-running. The cheaply purchased Sceptical is now given his biggest test although he has to prove himself on a surface such as this he comes here on the up. Khaadem still has questions to answer with regard to the ground while 2017 hero in this The Tin Man looks to be on the downgrade these days. Dream Of Dreams never built on his second in this last year while Hello Youmzain has two below-par C&D efforts to his name.
