String of duck eggs beside his name and made a lifeless seasonal debut at Leopardstown (1m; good) last week when little was expected of him (sent off 66-1). Top-weight to carry on and foolish to do anything other than oppose him.

Is the type to unexpectedly pop up so no surprise to see him bounce back from low-key seasonal return at Gowran Park (7f; good) in which he finished behind the likes of All The Mollies and Rudisha. Should strip fitter now and each-way claims.

Back down to his last winning mark after a string of low-key efforts. Evidently more was expected of him when well-fancied (sent off 3-1f) at Leopardstown (1m; good to firm) earlier this month. Should improve and another market check is advised.

Pulled out at Gowran Park on Wednesday in favour of this option. Swamped late on when having his first run in 10 months when making the best of his way home at Leopardstown (1m; good to firm). Will strip fitter and is considered.

Had a mid-season break after a promising pair of runs at the start of 2019, but not the same horse since then. Still early days but she needs to improve significantly from his reappearance effort, and her supporters are banking on this new trip.

Took a step back in the right direction when runner-up in a very competitive 18-runner handicap at Leopardstown (1m; good to firm) recently. Only beaten a neck and is likely to improve from that. Looks a leading player off just a 3lb higher mark.

Profile would suggest he is better over 7f than 1m, so despite his pleasing reappearance run at Gowran Park (7f; good) recently he is no certainty to back that up. Rain would enhance his chances, but record of 0-10 makes him vulnerable.

Winless in nine starts. Doesn't have a great deal going for him given the limited amount of promise he has shown so far. However, the standout run on his CV was over this trip on heavy ground so he could come into this if the rain arrives.

Ran to a similarly low level in each of his three starts in maiden company. Now enters handicap company for the first time, and would need to show masses of improvement to get involved. Remains best watched until offering more encouragement.

Posted encouraging reappearance effort when fourth at Gowran Park (7f; good) last week. Looks vulnerable for win purposes given overall record of 1-24. Could sneak into the placings but others look slightly more solid.

4lb below the mark he scored off at Ayr (7f; soft) in conditions which are likely to be similar to what he will encounter today. Not disgraced at Dundalk (6f/7f; standard) on the AW the last twice and can't be fully discounted.

Won around this time of year last season, and arrives here 11lb below his last winning mark. Made quiet reappearance effort at Leopardstown (1m; good to firm) under sympathetic ride. Of interest if popular in the betting.

10-race maiden looks vulnerable for win purposes but he has shown glimpses of ability in each of his last three starts. May come on from Leopardstown (1m; good to firm) reappearance effort and entitled to place claims at best.

Not tasted success since June 2017 but is back down to her last winning mark now. Strongly hinted at a return to form when third at Gowran Park (7f; good) last week and major claims if able to build upon that. Market check advised.

Only had a handful of starts and showed marked improvement to finish a close-up third at Roscommon (7f; good to firm) at the start of the week. 1m should suit on that evidence and he should make a bold bid to get off the mark.

Still chasing elusive first career success after eight starts without winning. Goes back up in trip to 1m but has masses to prove after a lifeless reappearance effort at Gowran Park (7f; good) last week. One of a few in here who can only be watched.

Makes her handicap debut after failing to show any ability in a trio of maiden events at Dundalk (7f/1m; standard) at the start of the year. Impossible to fancy on that evidence and therefore a watching brief is advised.

15:45 Naas - 20 June 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Small stakes advised on this minefield of a race. Airgead ran well for a long way before being mowed down late on at Leopardstown 11 days ago but he should strip fitter as he bids to supply his trainer a first winner for 305 days. Scorpion Black is hard to catch right, while Rudisha and Hidden Spark both posted likeable seasonal debuts when last seen. Lady Scathach was denied by a tight margin on her first run for eight months when beaten a neck at Leopardstown and she is feared. Preference is for DARK DESIGN though who is far less exposed and runs off the same mark as he did when posting a career-best at Roscommon on Monday.
  1. Dark Design
  2. Lady Scathach
  3. Airgead
