By Sea The Stars out of a Sadler's Wells mare. 14-1 on debut at Leopardstown last October, when well beaten (1m, soft). Will surely get better when upped in trip.

Bred to go well at this sort of trip, so it was no surprise to see him bely debut odds of 66-1 when performing with promise on his recent debut at Naas. Should step up on that and could emerge as a contender.

Third foal; half-brother to 1m1½f-1m5f winner I Am Not Here. Dam Listed-placed 7f winner. Watching brief advised on debut.

Has shown some ability on both starts on heavy ground, the first over 1m at the Curragh and then when dropped back to 7f at Limerick. Returns from an extended break here and could be a contender if as effective on a sound surface.

Dansili gelding who was sent off at 9-2 on his recent debut at Naas (1m, good to firm), where he showed up well to be 5L sixth of 18 (first-time tongue-tie). Should be a big player if able to improve on that promising start.

100-1 on debut at Naas (1m, soft/heavy) in March, when 12L ninth of 17 behind Wednesday's Royal Ascot winner Russian Emperor. Can build on that, but will probably have to wait for other days.

66-1 on debut in the same Naas maiden as Gregory's Gift in March, when he finished a few lengths/places behind that reopposing rival. In good hands, but needs a lot of improvement to figure.

Another to have come out of the same Naas maiden as others in the field and his 2¼L sixth to Russian Emperor is now beginning to read well in the context of this field. That was very promising and it will be a surprise if he is not a big player.

Yet another to have raced in the same Naas maiden in March as several of this field, and this one did best of them, finishing just a short head behind Royal Ascot scorer Russian Emperor. On that evidence he is the one to beat.

80-1 and unable to get involved on debut at Naas (1m, good to firm) when 14L tenth of 18 earlier in the month. Will need a significant improvement on that to get competitive.

Showed some promise on debut at Galway (7f, good/yld) 10-months ago, but didn't kick on from that when stepped up to 1m at the Curragh last that month. Since gelded and looks one to take a watching brief over this time.

Big prices and well beaten in two starts last August, here over C&D and then when last at the Curragh. Can't give him any realistic hope in this field on that evidence.

Was pulled up after the saddle slipped on debut at Dundalk last October, and then beaten over 15L on his only other run at Naas (1m, heavy; first-time tongue-tie) the following month. Can only watch.

Horse silk
66/1
66-1 and not devoid of promise at a minor level on debut when 12L sixth of 14 in a 7f maiden at this track. Much more needed to get involved here, but could find some joy in minor handicaps in time.

Forecasts

Lobo Rojo (10/11), Legal Reform (11/4), Dalvey (9/1), Ashtarak (9/1), Avarice (12/1), Born To Rule (22/1), Lord Park (50/1), Sydney Blues (66/1), Tuned For Power (66/1), Isaiah (100/1), Majeski Man (125/1), Gregory's Gift (150/1), Ballinlough Gale (250/1), Odd Venture (250/1)

16:45 Gowran Park - 19 June 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The Naas maiden in March, won by this week's Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes winner Russian Emperor, appears to be the key piece of form ahead of this race and it is hard to look beyond LOBO ROJO and Legal Reform here as a result. The former, beaten only narrowly that day, gets the vote, but that is not to say that that latter can't improve sufficiently to reverse their placings. Dalvey; Avarice and Born To Rule are the others of greater interest.
  1. Lobo Rojo
  2. Legal Reform
  3. Dalvey
