Rukwa260
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-0| J: Cam Hardie| T: S England
80/1
6yo making his Flat debut having fallen over hurdles on handicap debut when last seen at Sedgefield in October (well held at the time). Likely to be a pipe-opener for the return of summer jumping next month; stiff task at the weights.

Horse silk
16/1
Unfancied on his debut at Newcastle (1m, slow) in February but took advantage of the situation to score a debut win (long odds-on favourite refused to enter stalls). May do better switched to turf/up 2f in trip but not an obvious one under a penalty.

Al Khabeer256
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: S A Gray| T: D O'Meara
10/1
Gelded since making one appearance as a 2yo for Simon Crisford at Newmarket (1m, good/soft) last October. Sold for 25,000gns in January he's entitled to do better given some time and distance, stable debut, looks one for handicaps down the line.

Arabian Moon160
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Charles Bishop| T: R M Beckett| OR:  80
1/1
Acquired a string of placed efforts some of them behind useful types in varied events (has been tried in handicaps). Ran his best race back in a novice last time over 1m2f on Polytrack, returns to turf, sets the standard, needs to get the job done.

33/1
Interesting sort, €27,000 yearling, half-brother to several winners including useful 2yo 6f winner Loch Ness Monster and 5f winner Justice Lady. Yard continue to impress on the Flat, well worth a check in the betting on debut.

Horse silk
18/1
Made his debut on the day that racing resumed running as if the experience was needed all round at Newcastle (1m2f, slow). Unfancied in the market, finished well held in midfield, likely to come on for the experience and better is expected here.

Helmoona266
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Gemma Tutty(3)| T: K Tutty
200/1
Raced twice in backend 2yo minor events on turf/AW at up to 1m; made a slight impression on debut (some appeal on pedigree) but went backwards when next seen on Newcastle's Tapeta. Easily beaten on that occasion, up in trip with handicaps waiting.

King's Castle224
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: D Allan| T: W J Haggas
11/4
Hinted at ability on his Newmarket debut (1m, soft) having the look of one needing the experience. Failed to progress when next seen, shaped better than finishing position (refused to settle), remains open to progress up in trip; one for shortlist.

Horse silk
Lion's Vigil16
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: T Hamilton| T: R A Fahey
80/1
Twice-raced maiden with nearly a year between his two starts; gelded since 2yo debut, may well have needed the run on return. Offered something for the future on both starts but looks one for further down the line given his pedigree.

Horse silk
Western Hero276
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: K Stott| T: K A Ryan
7/1
Quite highly tried on his two juvenile starts over 6.3f/7f on decent ground running to the same fair level both times. Gelded since his juvenile days, he now returns from an absence stepped up significantly in trip; should progress further.

Tyche13
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: T Eaves| T: B Ellison
66/1
Made a slight impression on her debut at Newcastle (1m, slow) having been tardily away (looked inexperienced the whole race). Up in trip for her second start (makes a fairly quick return); will benefit from some further experience, handicaps await.

Forecasts

Arabian Moon (1/1), King's Castle (11/4), Western Hero (7/1), Al Khabeer (10/1), My Macho Man (16/1), Hatheem (18/1), Catbird Seat (33/1), Tyche (66/1), Lion's Vigil (80/1), Rukwa (80/1), Helmoona (200/1)

15:45 Beverley - 17 June 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A few that could well improve in this against one who sets the standard in the already rated 80 Arabian Moon who has had a fair few chances to break his maiden but is finding it hard to do so and on balance may do so again although his most recent run is working out well. KING’S CASTLE needs to settle down in his races to do himself justice but he clearly showed ability in a couple of decent 2yo races last year and this trip is bound to help him more. Similar thoughts could be proffered about Hatheem and Western Hero with both looking to have further progress in them. The penalty may rule out My Macho Man but keep an eye on the market with regard to the unraced Catbird Seat.
  1. King's Castle
  2. Arabian Moon
  3. Catbird Seat
