1/1
Failed to win as a 2yo (three AW starts) finishing runner-up on his first two starts prior to disappointing on final juvenile start. Back to form on handicap/turf debut at Haydock (10.2f, good), stayed on well (finished third), showed sound attitude.

6/4
Bred to be smart, produced a good first effort at Redcar (7f, good), kept on well under tender handling (race looked useful). Failed to justify favouritism on only other start (1m, heavy), not disgraced though, looks an ideal type for 3yo handicaps.

Progressed steadily in maiden/minor events as a 2yo before letting the side down on nursery debut (well backed) at Wolverhampton (9.5f, standard). A well-bred sort he's not one to be giving up on easily as he returns to turf having been gelded.

Forecasts

Glenties (1/1), Bodyline (11/10), Bright Eyed Eagle (6/4), Gibraltar (5/1)

15:25 Goodwood - 14 June 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

With Bodyline not taking his place in the field just a trio go to post and there’s a danger that this could become tactical. Glenties is generally ridden positively and Joe Fanning (so good from the front) is given a good opportunity to set the fractions and dictate the pace especially as this son of Karakontie should enjoy this further step up in trip. BRIGHT EYED EAGLE just shades the vote having produced a taking debut at Redcar and despite failing to win second-time out when favourite there was still a lot to like about him; stepping up to this trip for his handicap debut can only be seen as a positive. Gibraltar completes the field and shouldn’t be neglected but more is needed from him.
  1. Bright Eyed Eagle
  2. Glenties
  3. Gibraltar
