Two very ordinary runs to date over 1m2f and will likely do better when handicapping after this. but hard to make a case for here.

Bumped into smart horse when runner-up at Chepstow on first run last year and was well fancied to beat Pondus at Sandown next time but faded after chasing the winner throughout. Not seen after but that is the best form on offer here.

Was well backed here on second career run in February taking big jump up in trip but showed nothing. Clearly thought capable of better but bit to prove after that show.
From a family the yard know well with half-brother Mekong proving a smart stayer. Not knocked about on debut last autumn but the type to do much better with time and market move should be noted.

Best effort when staying on neck second in the middle of three runs at slightly shorter in the spring. Has to leave behind a disappointing run when last seen and now up a furlong.

25,000 gns buy as a foal and dam won at 1m2f. Brother to a winner at this trip but has clearly had issues to be off the track until now and best watched for debut.

Last of eight over 7f on only run here last summer. Bred to appreciate this longer trip but does need to take a major step forward on first run since been gelded.

Big prices on both runs last autumn but not disgraced despite finishing midfield and the sort to take a big step forward this term. Any support for him here would be interesting.

Some ability at Thirsk on first of two runs last season over 1m but took a step back on second run and may do better when handicapping after this.

Tailed off at huge prices in two runs at shorter in the spring and impossible to fancy on that evidence.

100/1 on debut in November but always struggling after a slow start and beat just the two home. Likely to do better at this longer trip but may be more a long term prospect.

Maiden Castle (9/4), Dark Scimitar (10/3), Quickthorn (4/1), Atlantic Crossing (11/2), Crossing The Bar (6/1), East End Girl (20/1), Gentleman At Arms (25/1), Go Bob Go (40/1), Gloriano (66/1), Jolyon (150/1), Sparrow Hawk (250/1), Ingleby Exile (250/1)

18:30 Kempton - 10 June 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

MAIDEN CASTLE has been off the track over a year since showing good form in maidens last spring but if he is ready to go after a break he can get off the mark in the first time-hood. Quickthorn appeals as the sort to do well as a three-year-old and looks the one to take advantage if the selection needs the run. Crossing The Bar on breeding is a surefire improver and with the stable among the winners completes the short list.
  1. Maiden Castle
  2. Quickthorn
  3. Crossing The Bar
