Horse silk
11/10
€100,000 yearling; third foal from an Italian based dam; half-brother to the 1m2½f-1m5f winner Ben Rumson; given his connections he appeals as one of the likelier candidates; trainer is 8-56 (14%) in bumpers this season.

£15,000 yearling; €36,000 3yo; second foal; dam was an unraced sister to the useful bumper/2m-2m2f hurdle winner Academy Sir Harry; the in-form Venetia Williams has a healthy 31% strike-rate (5-16) in bumpers this season.

6
Horse silk
4/1
Shirocco gelding; third foal out of the bumper winner Hurricane Milly (closely related to the bumper/2m3f-3m2f hurdle/chase winner Darkness; certainly noteworthy for a trainer who is 3-27 (11%) in bumpers this season.

15:26 Market Rasen - 26 February 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A fascinating newcomers' bumper which could yield a plethora of future winners. Obviously the market (unavailable at the time of writing) should offer a solid guide to the expectations of connections and any relevant clues should be heeded. However, on paper some of the likelier candidates include Across The Line, Star Academy, Grosvenor Court and HARRYJOEJOE. Richard Fahey has endured mixed fortunes with his bumper runners this term (1-12; 8%) but Lubeat Foras carried the silks of the Richard Fahey Racing Club to success at Sedgefield in January, and the booking of Daryl Jacob very much raises the eyebrows here.
  1. Harryjoejoe
  2. Star Academy
  3. Across The Line
