Dual chase winner when trained in France and likely to have finished second when brought down two out on hunter debut here last month. Tongue-tie seemed to help that day and no surprise they are retained here.
Has seemingly had a few issues throughout his career as there have been some gaps along the way but fair handicapper when on song and relatively few miles on the clock for one his age. Now goes hunter chasing and looks sure to go well.
Didn't reach the heights expected for Paul Nicholls despite winning at Taunton a year ago, but seems to have found his level for this stable winning both his point-to-points beating solid yardstick on each occasion and probably sets the standard.
Has been a fine servant down the years for his connections winning the same 2m chase at the Cheltenham Hunter meeting on three occasions, but has always looked vulnerable under Rules over this longer trip and others have more assured stamina.
Leicester win a year ago before finishing second on softer ground at Stratford and possible that this longer trip on soft ground may be a problem for him.
Won his sole point-to-point at this trip but yet to try 3m under Rules and although he was in good heart when last seen, does have to prove his stamina for this.
Have to go back to 2016 for most recent win over hurdles and very lightly raced over fences these days and needs to come back in better form after another break.
Forecasts
Monbeg Gold (11/10), The Dellercheckout (7/4), Dieu Vivant (7/1), Llancillo Lord (16/1), O Ceallaigh (20/1), Asangy (25/1), Sam Cavallaro (33/1)
THE DELLERCHECKOUT has been in good form in point-to-points since joining this stable and with fitness guaranteed looks the pick. Monbeg Gold could be the type to go well in this sphere and rates the principal danger with Dieu Vivant next best.
