Multiple Flat winner stepped up on debut over hurdles when finishing runner-up over an extended 1m7f at Catterick (good-to-soft) just over a month ago. Bold show expected in this contest.
Placed on two of his last three starts including when 3L third over 2m at Punchestown (yielding) in October. Changed stables since and he looks likely to play a leading role back in maiden company.
Run well on both hurdles starts to date including when 8½L fourth over an extended 1m7f at Catterick (good-to-soft) last time out. Bit to find with Briardale on that form.
Held when falling at the last in a 3m point-to-point at Mainstown (soft) in early December. Changed stables since and market support would be notable dropping markedly in distance on Rules debut.
Showed decent form for Arnaud Chaille-Chaille in France but could finish only fourth, beaten 11L when contesting a 2m4f maiden hurdle on soft ground when debuting for this yard last month. Drop in trip looks likely to suit.
19 race maiden on the Flat was beaten off a mark of 45 in a 1m handicap at Southwell in November. Others make more appeal on hurdling debut following a break.
Well held in four starts on the Flat last year and it was a similar story on hurdling debut at Wetherby (2m, soft) last month. Others make more appeal.
Forecasts
Let The Heirs Walk (8/11), Rostello (2/1), Briardale (13/2), Quoteline Direct (16/1), Road To Reward (33/1), The Gingerbreadman (125/1), Simul Amicis (500/1)
LET THE HEIRS WALK showed good form in handicap company for his previous stable when based in Ireland and he can make a winning debut for Tim Vaughan in this small field maiden hurdle. Rostello disappointed on stable debut last time out and he can improve on that effort to claim second spot ahead of Briardale who has run well on both previous outings over hurdles.
