Just 2-37 over fences and often makes the frame (10 times); running solid races around Wetherby this winter and could pick up some reward now taking on a veterans' chase.

Fine second in valuable Grand National Trial at Punchestown in February but has gone the wrong way since and left Joseph O'Brien for £9,000 in September. Rare jumps runner for Irish trainer who does well with the Flat horses in Britain. Intersting.

Most recent of three career wins came in November 2016; Kelso effort from April past would have him in the mix for this, though more recent efforts less inspiring. One hurdles run around here was decent.

Needs a real stamina test to be at best these days, as seen at Ayr (3m3f, good to soft; third) a year ago; pulled up both starts since either side of a 328-day layoff, latest being 10 days ago at Kelso. Hard to be confident.

Went close at Warwick in November (3m1½f, good to soft; 25-1) and rather unfortunate to go up 5lb for finishing second. Poor since at Sandown in December but that was a stronger race than this one; considered.

Forecasts

Valadom (15/8), Wishmoor (15/8), Silver Tassie (10/3), Ash Park (10/1), Follow The Swallow (10/1)

15:35 Catterick - 22 January 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Silver Tassie hasn't won for a while but can't be knocked for enthusiasm and should have sound claims now taking his chance in a Veterans' contest. Wishmoor is a rare runner over jumps for Irish trainer Johnny Levins, who tends to do well with Flat raiders in this country and is noted as such. FOLLOW THE SWALLOW was a shade unfortunate going up 5lb for finishing second at Warwick in November and can be forgiven a lesser run at Sandown next time in a stronger race. Max Kendrick's claim will give him excellent credentials here if repeating the promise of that penultimate run.
  1. Follow The Swallow
  2. Silver Tassie
  3. Wishmoor
