No surprise to see this well bred Invincible Spirit filly improve on her handicap bow having shown little on her first three runs. She led furlong out at Kempton 6f then was worn down late on. Will know more and has good chance off same mark.

Only one place from 15 starts and has been disappointing. Struggled to make any impression at 7f-1m so drops back to sprinting off 2lb lower than when well beaten over 7f here last time.

Landed Wolverhampton 6f seller for Mark Usher in September, and although has failed to reach a place in three starts for current handler, hasn't been disgraced. Eased 2lb since last run and 7lb claimer up this time.

Very well bred Zoffany gelding. Dam 5f Group 2 winner. Didn't show much in three starts for William Haggas and picked up for just 5000gns in October by Dennis Hogan. One poor run for him and now debuts for new connections. Market check advised.

17-race maiden who has struggled last trhee starts over 5f and steps back up in trip now. Not totally out of it on bits and pieces of form last term but others make rather more appeal.

Only modest and yet to place in five starts. Hasn't had too much luck though in two handicap runs to date and there is room for improvement for fine yard. May do better now stepping back up to 6f.

Has struggled to get home all three runs so far in novice events. Handicap debut off lowly mark on return from 60-day absence. Doesn't jump off the page as obvious winner.

Nine-race maiden but gained first place last time when third in Kempton 6f h'cap last week. First start at this track and jockey in decent form at present so may well be in the mix.

Modest form in six starts last summer but has not been disgraced since gelded soon after. Hasn't got home over 1m last two starts and drops back 2f so worth a market check off low mark.

Forecasts

Cliff Wind (3/1), Passing Nod (5/1), Quiet Word (6/1), Star Of St Louis (6/1), Chromium (6/1), Broughtons Compass (8/1), Fact Or Fable (8/1), Comeatchoo (12/1), Knockacurra (20/1)

13:35 Lingfield - 17 January 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

If CLIFF WIND has learned a little from her recent solid second on handicap bow at Kempton she may well get off the mark here at the fifth time of asking. Moving back up in trip, Quiet Word is not without interest, nor is Passing Nod, bred to be smart but who has shown precious little to date. He may do better now on stable debut and handicap bow for David O'Meara. Star Of St Louis is worth noting for any sign of stable confidence after showing a little more last time.
  1. Cliff Wind
  2. Quiet Word
  3. Passing Nod
