2lb higher than when winning for the second time over C&D in April (beat La Cumparsita by ¾L); her October C&D fourth (beaten 3L) to Suitcase 'N' Taxi has worked out well since; fair chance.

Fairly consistent at Wolverhampton (7f) of late without necessarily threatening to strike; holds an entry in a Classified Selling Stakes there on Friday evening (5.15pm) and would carry a penalty if successful; watch this space for updates.

Nine-race maiden; all three starts on the AW have come on Tapeta at Newcastle; started 4-1f when fourth of 14 to the 50-1 shot Dodgy Bob (7f) latest.

Weakened from the two furlong pole on Fibresand debut here (1m) in November - finished sixth of 14 to Motahassen (The Retriever second, Mister Freeze fifth); reappears sporting a visor; 0-6 career.

No win since March 2018 (C&D); started 7-2f when only fifth of 14 to Motahassen (The Retriever second) over 1m here in November; is thought capable of better over 7f; enters calculations on various form lines with Break The Silence.

Placed (third to Al Batal) in a C&D selling handicap on his penultimate start; an unflattering 0-26 on the AW; has clearly had more than his fair share of chances.

Hasn't shown a great deal of positive AW form previously (0-6); 1-19 on turf (with that win coming for James Tate way back in June 2017); cheekpieces are applied on first start since October; basic market check needed in a poor race.

11-race maiden; beaten 7L when runner-up to Motahassen over 1m here on his penultimate start (Mister Freeze and Adashelby behind); somewhat reverted to type at Newcastle (7f) subsequently; generally unconvincing.

Forecasts

N Over J (5/2), Midnight In Havana (3/1), Mister Freeze (7/2), Rockesbury (9/2), The Retriever (5/1), Fly True (15/2), Adashelby (12/1), Sea Shack (16/1), Fivehundredmiles (20/1), Leeshaan (33/1)

15:55 Southwell - 12 January 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

N OVER J was heavily supported on debut for Mick Appleby at Kempton (7f) on Wednesday, but blew the start completely and wasn't given a tough time by Alistair Rawlinson. With Appleby renowned for rejuvenating the cast-off's of other trainers there's more than a fair chance that compensation awaits in a similarly porous contest. Of the remainder, the mare Fly True is more convincing than the vast majority, while Mister Freeze must also enter the reckoning on the basis of some respectable C&D form lines with the thoroughly consistent Break The Silence.
  1. N Over J
  2. Mister Freeze
  3. Fly True
