Won a turf conditions event here over slightly shorter in September. Both AW wins have been on Tapeta, but he has gone close here on Polytrack too. 5lb lower than more recent AW win, so on a handy mark if he can revive.
Has won three of his last four, the most recent coming over C&D last week, when just holding on to justify favouritism. Another 3lb rise will make it tougher, but he is in such good form that he should again prove tough to beat.
7f course winner who has not been far off his best on his last two outings at Wolverhampton and then here (1m2f) last time. Same mark today, and has excuses due to traffic problems last time so remains of interest. Has stamina to prove.
Dual turf winner at up to 1m4f, and also scored over this trip on Fibresand on his penultimate start. Didn't get home over 1m6f at Chelmsford last time, in what was a tough ask anyway, but could go very well back in open company.
1m3f winner who scored on his first run at this track (1m2f) last time out, in a 0-90. Up 3lb for that, but probably had a bit more up his sleeve than the 1L margin suggested. Unexposed on his debut over this trip and looks a major player.
Multiple course winner, the latest of those successes coming over C&D in February, when 3lb higher. Ended a less auspicious spell last time when very close second at Kempton. Nudged back up 1lb, but looks a contender.
Debut winner in France (1m3f) on turf, in May. Ran with credit in two out of three subsequent races there. Changed hands for 78,000gns in October and is one to note in the market on debut for this trainer.
Forecasts
Entangling (2/1), Just The Man (2/1), Furzig (5/1), Bo Samraan (5/1), Exceeding Power (14/1), Original Choice (20/1), Thematic (33/1)
Original Choice should find this less taxing than some races he has contested more recently, and he can't be written off, but preference is for JUST THE MAN, who is unexposed over this far and arrives in great form. Exceeding Power could prove to be the biggest danger to the selection, while Entangling and Bo Samraan are not ruled out.
