Horse silk
150/1
Yard 0-16 in junior bumpers; half-sister to three winners on the Flat. Made little impact on her junior bumper debut finishing well held of little interest here.
2
Horse silk
50/1
Stable have never had a winner in a junior bumper (0-12) and that's unlikely to change here having been well beaten in a couple of similar events already.
3
Horse silk
2/1
Yard have a good record in bumpers generally; 2-12 in this type of bumper. Half-sister to three winners, wore a tongue-tie for her debut at Warwick; produced a promising first effort second to better-fancied stablemate, third since won over hurdles.
4
Horse silk
11/4
2-5 with debut junior bumper runners (one of those winners coming here). Cost £40,000; half-sister to bumper winner Arion Sky, dam also nicely related to jumping winners. Yard having a cracking season, hard to ignore if supported.
5
Horse silk
16/1
Irish raider who makes her second visit to these shores having run far too free on her debut at Warwick (finished well behind Coquelicot). Showed ability on debut but needs to settle better to fulfil any potential she may have.
6
Horse silk
Karastani57
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King
20/1
One of two that the yard who have an excellent record in these contests runs in this (the other a newcomer). £42,000 purchase (half-sister to five winners), shaped with plenty of encouragement at Exeter on debut; needs more emphasis on stamina.
7
Horse silk
5/1
Trainer has a remarkable record in these events going 6-11 (6-10 with newcomers) and 1-1 at this course. Half-sister to three winners including bumper winner/useful hurdler Misterton; deserves a very close look given her pedigree and yard's record.
8
Horse silk
6/1
Newcomer from a stable who also run Karastani (who has already run); good record with newcomers in this sphere 10-52 (2-8 with newcomers here). Sister to six winners including a hurdling winner for the stable William H Bonney; note market strength.
Half-sister to 6f winner Force To Spend who makes her debut here having cost just 1,500 guineas as a foal. Yard not noted for their winners in bumpers and have a 0-4 record in this type of bumper; hard to fancy.
10
Horse silk
25/1
Dam bumper and 2m2f winner, half sister to useful chaser Golden Chieftain. Makes her debut for a yard that are struggling at the moment and return a 0-35 record in junior bumpers; not hard to look elsewhere on this occasion.

Horse silk
Passin' Thru28
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Ben Jones(5)| T: R Stephens
100/1
Could hardly have shown anything less on her debut at Warwick last time finishing well behind three of today's rivals. Half-sister to four winners on the Flat but of little interest here, likely to be in for another struggle.
12
Horse silk
Rocket Naan
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: G Sheehan| T: T Ward
16/1
First foal of a dam who was a 5f winner as a juvenile. Hardly an inspiring pedigree with this being the yards first runner under a jumps licence (had two winners on the Flat this year).
13
Horse silk
33/1
Yard have one winner from a limited amount of runners in junior bumpers with that singular winner coming on debut. Dam a winner over middle distances, half-sister to Italian Oaks winner Sand Zabeel; might be worth a second glance in the market.

Forecasts

Coquelicot (2/1), Dreaming Of Glory (11/4), Maridadi (5/1), Midnight Ginger (6/1), Indy System (16/1), Rocket Naan (16/1), Karastani (20/1), Mossy Glen (25/1), Tibbie Dunbar (33/1), City Flame (50/1), Passin' Thru (100/1), Mon Petit Cheri (150/1), Cameronscat (150/1)

15:30 Newbury - 18 December 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Of those that have run the most interesting pair are undoubtedly Coquelicot who shaped well on her debut behind a stablemate at Warwick with that form already franked by the win of the third over hurdles and Karastani although that one looks to need a stiffer test already. The last named of that duo is trained by Alan King whose record in this arena is worth noting and it’s his newcomer Midnight Ginger who looks more favoured in the market. However, the remarkable record of Hughie Morrison in this type of race points the way to his newcomer MARIDADI who is taken to add to tally. Dreaming Of Glory is another debutant who should be noted coming from a yard who can do little wrong this season.
  1. Maridadi
  2. Coquelicot
  3. Dreaming Of Glory
