Was a winner on his debut under Rules at Market Rasen (3m½f). Has been unable to follow that up in three appearances since. He was seventh of 11 on his latest start at Ayr (3m½f). Has been eased 2lb. One for the shortlist.
His last success was at Perth (2m) back in May 2018. He has produced some good runs since then though. Had just one rival behind him in a five runner contest at Cartmel (2m6f) last time. Is down 2lb in the weights. One to consider from this mark.
Broke his maiden under Rules at Musselburgh (2m4f) last time out when he was on the right side of a close finish, prevailing by a neck. Has gone up 5lb for that success. Leading contender to follow it up.
Is on a long losing run which goes back to December 2016. He has come close to success on a number of occasions since then though. His last appearance came at Bangor (2m4½f) where he was third of seven. Has each-way claims.
Produced his best run of the season so far last time at Haydock (2m7f) when he was fourth of nine runners. Is down in trip now but remains off the same mark. Worth consideration.
Recorded a hat-trick of wins early in 2017 but has not won since. Has been a long way down the field on his three runs so far this season. He was sixth of seven last time at Chepstow (2m3½f). Has been eased 3lb but others are preferred.
Was third of 10 at Huntingdon (3m1) on his penultimate start, however, he came down three out last time at Carlisle (2m4f). Needs to bounce back from his latest effort.
Remains a maiden after 14 starts. Had just one horse behind him in a seven runner contest at Warwick (2m3f) on his latest effort. Set for his first run for his new yard here. Needs to improve.
Scored on his hurdles debut at Hexham (2m) back in June. Has struggled since then, including last time when he was ninth of 10 at Cheltenham (2m½f) in a Grade Two contest. Others appeal more.
Forecasts
Shetland Bus (7/4), Subcontinent (4/1), Samson's Reach (9/2), Seemingly So (9/2), Arctic Gold (9/1), On The Road (12/1), Green Etoile (20/1), Craig Star (25/1), Easkey Lad (50/1)
SHETLAND BUS was successful at the seventh attempt over hurdles last time at Musselburgh and he can do the same again here. He showed how tough he was in the closing stages of that success so he is capable of following it up despite his 5lb rise in the weights. Subcontinent can deliver much more than his recent form suggests and should do better off this latest mark, while Seemingly So is worth taking to fill the placings as he has been given a chance now by the handicapper to be competitive.
