Cost €15,000 as a yearling; related to minor winners on the Flat. Was drawn poorly and missed the break on debut over C&D two weeks ago, beating only one home. Will need to have learnt a lot from that experience to figure here.

Shaped with promise when midfield at Windsor (5f) on debut before improving to finish second over C&D four weeks ago, beaten 4L. Jockey reported he was still green that and so any further improvement will make him tough to beat.

7/4
Has been consistent in defeat since his second start; he has finished third on his last two runs at this track (7f/6f). Has plenty of early pace so the drop in trip shouldn't inconvenience him and he should be a tough nut to crack.

11th foal; half-brother to eight winners, the best of which are Listed winner Baby Strange and Grade 3-placed Moone's My Name. Yard rarely have newcomers win and are just 3/139 with juveniles in the last five seasons. Would be a surprise winner.

Cheap purchase at €5,200. First foal from an unraced dam. Pedigree doesn't set the world alight but the yard does having winning debutantes, so the market may be the best guide to his chance.

€9,000 daughter of Showcasing; her dam won over 1m in America. There is plenty of speed in her pedigree and from a yard that does well, particularly on the AW and she could be a threat even with a moderate level of ability.

Forecasts

Rocking Reg (11/8), Triple Spear (7/4), Dress Circle (4/1), Viva Voce (20/1), Bring The Money (33/1), The Kyllachy Touch (125/1)

16:50 Wolverhampton - 14 December 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Of the three newcomers, Dress Circle is the one who warrants a second-look given her speedy pedigree and connections. She wouldn't need to run to a particularly high level to get involved. Triple Spear knows his job and will likely go forward which may set it up for ROCKING REG. Roger Teal's inmate has shown a fair level of form in her two starts to date and get off the mark at the third attempt.
  1. Rocking Reg
  2. Triple Spear
  3. Dress Circle
