Smart but frustrating sort for David Pipe this yard have to an extent got him back on track winning in France in September. Almost caused a shock in a decent 2m Cheltenham handicap off a much-reduced mark, well held at Ascot last time; inconsistent.

Nicky Richards who won this last year with Cultram Abbey off a 7lb lower mark returns that one to the fray again and he’s sure to run his race again around a course that he goes well although this could prove tougher than last year and Richards may have a better chance of scoring again with Chidswell or the nicely-weighted BERNADELLI. The former of that duo is another to have run well here before although he’ll have to recapture his Grimthorpe winning form to land this with the latter off his last winning mark and blinkers back on preferred. Wild West Wind continues his rehabilitation after a wind op whilst if he jumps better the lightly-raced 10yo Claud And Goldie is of interest.
