Horse silk
50/1
Maiden hurdle winner over an extended 2m4f at Market Rasen (good) in May. Disappointed on debut for this yard at Hereford (2m, soft) last time out however and needs to put that effort behind him if he's to take this event.
2
Horse silk
150/1
Well held in two hurdles starts here most recently when 53L 15th in a 2m novice contest on soft ground last month. Others make more appeal.
3
Horse silk
7/1
Point-to-point winner over 3m at Hackwood Park (good-to-soft) in March last year and finished a promising 9L fourth in a maiden hurdle over 2m on soft ground here on Rules and stable debut just over a month ago. Interesting upped in trip.

Dual bumper winner on good-to-soft ground and showed promise when finishing 11L third in a 2m4f novice race at Carlisle (good-to-soft) on hurdling debut early last month. Of interest once more.

Placed on two of his three point-to-point starts most recently when 2¼L second of four in a 2m5f maiden at Sandon (good) in April. Changed stables since and is worth a check in the market on Rules debut.

Improved on point-to-point debut when finishing 1L second in a 3m maiden at Ballingarry (good) in June. Purchased for £20,000 subsequently and wears a tongue tie for the first time on Rules debut.

Placed in a couple of small field point-to-point races in the spring and showed ability when 30L seventh in a maiden hurdle over an extended 2m at Taunton (good) on Rules debut in November. Disappointed on soft ground subsequently however.

Beaten 31L when finishing fifth in a bumper over 2m on good ground when making his debut in April. Interesting to see how he fares on hurdling and seasonal debut.

Horse silk
14/1
Shaped as if a step up in trip would suit when finishing 16L fourth in a 2m bumper on soft ground when making his debut here last month. Interesting runner on first start over hurdles.
Placed in a point-to-point and ran well when finishing 3L second in a 2m bumper at Worcester (good-to-soft) on Rules debut in October. Decent 13L sixth over this trip at Huntingdon (good) on hurdles debut and is interesting in this contest.

Horse silk
50/1
Decent 9¾L last of six in a 2m event at Ludlow (good) in May on second of two bumper starts and was running well prior to being brought down two out in a maiden hurdle over an extended 2m at Taunton (good) last month. Likely more need however.

Bumper winner on good ground in May and has placed on both starts over hurdles to date most recently when finishing 4¼L third in a heavy ground 2m contest at Uttoxeter last month. Tongue tie and cheekpieces both tried for the first time.
14
Horse silk
100/1
Point-to-point winner on yielding ground in April 2017 but failed to complete in two starts in that sphere subsequently. Probably best watched on stable and Rules debut having fallen in a point-to-point in February.

200/1
13 race maiden under all codes and was beaten 54L when ninth in a 2m maiden hurdle at Huntingdon (good-to-soft) on jumps debut a fortnight ago. Others make more appeal.
Point-to-point winner over 3m at Lydstep (good) in April. Struggled both starts for this stable however and is probably best watched at present.

COOK THE BOOKS showed promise when making his debut under Rules and he can get off the mark at the second attempt over hurdles with victory in this big field novices' event. The selection represents a top yard and he can see off his rivals with Equus Dancer, a dual bumper winner last season capable of taking second spot ahead of Jour A La Plage who should appreciate this step up in distance switched to hurdles.
  1. Cook The Books
  2. Equus Dancer
  3. Jour A La Plage
