Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Harry Teal(5)| T: W Greatrex
5/1
Weak 16/1 shot for Huntingdon debut over 1m5f last month but belied those odds with an encouraging 2L third although that form yet to be tested. Shaped as though this longer trip will suit and can step up on that form.

Be The Best
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: G Sheehan| T: O Signy
14/1
Seventh foal of a dam who never made the track Half-brother to two winners on the Flat. Interesting jockey booking takes the eye and market should prove a guide.
3
Horse silk
6/4
Dam won over 1m3f. Half-brother to decent chaser Astracad. Top stable always commands respect in these races here and interesting to see the strength of him in the market.
4
Horse silk
66/1
€16,000 purchase in June. Half-brother to Cloone Rocket who won bumpers but likely to do better in time for small yard.
5
Horse silk
3/1
5L third at Vichy on soft ground in second of his runs in similar races when trained in France. Has now joined top yard and the winner of that race has shown himself to be a smart sort so commands plenty of respect.
Second foal of dam who was very moderate on the Flat. Rare runner in bumpers for small principally Flat yard and only of interest if market speaks in his favour.

Horse silk
Le Bateau
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Aidan Coleman| T: R Hughes
13/2
Third foal of dam who won at 1m on the Flat and his half-brother George Of Hearts has won up to that trip. Very rare runner in this sphere for in-form Flat yard and makes plenty of appeal on paper.

Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Mr S Lee(7)| T: P W Middleton
20/1
Creditable second on Market Rasen debut over 1m5f but well below that level when stepping up in trip at Aintree since though soft ground that day may not have helped.
Related to winners from 6f to 2m6f but stable 0-30 in bumpers in the last 5 years and only of interest if market speaks in his favour.
10
Horse silk
125/1
Third foal of a dam who never reached the track. Stable just 1-53 in such races since 2014 and others make more obvious appeal on paper.
11
Horse silk
50/1
First foal of dam who won from 1m on the Flat to 2m6f over hurdles for this stable but likely to need more time.
12
Horse silk
Vitruviust1
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: J J Burke| T: C Hills
14/1
Flat yard saddled a newcomer to win a similar contest in the summer and this ones half-brother was a winning sprinter for him. Interesting newcomer and another for whom market confidence would make him of interest.
13
Horse silk
100/1
Cheap newcomer who is a stable companion of Getalead and others make more appeal on paper for his small yard.

Forecasts

Duc De Bourbon (6/4), Grand Roi (3/1), Audacity (5/1), Le Bateau (13/2), Be The Best (14/1), Vitruvius (14/1), Mawlood (20/1), The Topp Notes (50/1), Getalead (66/1), Midnight Wave (66/1), Whataboutwalt (100/1), Hippolyte Bouchard (100/1), Thebudinpundit (125/1)

15:50 Wincanton - 5 December 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Like so many bumpers the market should prove a good guide but in particular here with some Flat stables having rare runners in this sphere. Le Bateau is of particular interest but having shown some form when trained in France GRAND ROI may be the safest option. Audacity showed ability at Huntingdon and this longer trip will help.
  1. Grand Roi
  2. Le Bateau
  3. Audacity
