8/1
Stepped up markedly from chase debut when running out ready winner of typically strong C&D novices' chase last week. Quick turnaround and has a penalty but solid claims with rider taking weight off.
2
Horse silk
Golden Sunriseb22
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: R M Power| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  133| CD
7/1
Quite a difficult sort but had things go his way when landing C&D similar contest last month. Suspect more will be needed after his in the handicap though. Front runner.
3
Horse silk
Truckin Awayt133
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-7| J: R Johnson| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR:  132
9/1
Useful over hurdles last season but shaped as if something wasn't right when pulled up on chase debut last time. Can be forgiven for that and remains entirely unexposed in this sphere.
4
Horse silk
Lithicp210
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-4| J: R P McLernon| T: J & A O'Neill| OR:  129
22/1
Yet to win over fences but ended last season with placed efforts in this kind of company. Tends to need first run of the season so may be best watched here.

Horse silk
Worthy Farmp121
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: H Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  128| D
10/1
Fair efforts over hurdles but didn't offer much when seventh at Worcester (3m) on chase debut. Likely to be better than that and cheekpieces go on for the first time today.
6
Horse silk
Rock My Stylep235
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-2| J: Harry Bannister| T: W Greatrex| OR:  127| DWS
33/1
Landed some hurdle events in 2018 but not the same force over fences, including when pulling up at Newbury on latest start. Doesn't look well fancied in this.
7
Horse silk
De Name Evades Me33
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-2| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien| OR:  127| D
11/4
Irish point and hurdles winner and shaped encouragingly to take second in 3m chase at Chepstow after lengthy lay off. That form looks strong which makes him a leading player in this.
8
Horse silk
Cloudy Glen241
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: Hugh Nugent(5)| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  127
10/1
Struck three times last year, only losing once, including at Carlisle on latest start in March. Not seen since and makes chase debut but goes well under this rider.
9
Horse silk
Captain Drakep126
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: S Bowen| T: H Fry| OR:  127| BF| D
14/1
progressive sort over hurdles but that has seemingly ended with two heavy defeats over 3m since sent chasing. Bit to prove with cheekpieces now on.
10
Horse silk
Southern Sam179
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-13| J: L P Aspell| T: O Sherwood| OR:  124
11/2
Promising sort. Rewarded for good efforts when battling it out to land 2m4f Uttoxeter hurdle when last seen in the spring. Has the scope to shape as an exciting chaser so dangerous to ignore.
11
Horse silk
Notachance20
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-10| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King| OR:  121| BF| D
8/1
Useful at this trip over hurdles and very nearly made a successful chase debut at Southwell (3m) in late October. Improving sort but this looks a deeper contest.

Forecasts

De Name Evades Me (11/4), Southern Sam (11/2), Golden Sunrise (7/1), Notachance (8/1), Virginia Chick (8/1), Truckin Away (9/1), Cloudy Glen (10/1), Worthy Farm (10/1), Captain Drake (14/1), Lithic (22/1), Rock My Style (33/1)

14:35 Exeter - 13 November 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A trappy-looking contest, preference is for DE NAME EVADES ME, who took the eye last time out and is competitively weighted to go well as long as the 'bounce' factor doesn't play its part. His main danger could come from Southern Sam, who was campaigned last year with chasing in mind this term. While the likes of Golden Sunrise could make it a stamina test from the front and Notachance remains one of the least exposed in the field and sneaks in at the bottom of the weights.
  1. De Name Evades Me
  2. Southern Sam
  3. Notachance
