Gelded for his stable/GB debut over C&D and without any headgear this time he probably needed the run on his first start since July. Never a threat he now drops to a career-low mark and isn't one to write off, still fairly unexposed.

Well supported and showed some improved form when off the mark over this trip at Kempton back in February. Only seen three times since then finishing sixth each time, may well have needed the run when last seen; returns from another break.

C&D winner who shaped quite nicely on his first run for this trainer off the back of a five-month absence at Newcastle (6f) last time. That run matches the form her showed when winning here; he's now off the exact same mark; has to be respected.

Returned to form to record his second win for this yard, taking advantage of the drop into a 0-50 handicap over C&D, enjoying his return to the AW. Ran at least as well in defeat under a penalty last time; should run well again at a similar level.

Four-time course winner although only one of those victories has come at this trip (others over 7f). Has built up quite a long losing sequence since winning over 7f here in January off 14lb higher; needs to show more to take advantage of his mark.

Given plenty of advantages including a drop in the weights when scoring over C&D off a 1lb lower mark in August. Three AW starts since then have all gone poorly and she looks to be in something of a lull for now.

Didn't take long to win for this yard scoring on his second start attracting support with headgear back on at Brighton to take a selling handicap (6f). True to form he's been rather inconsistent since then; ran better than of late last time.

Failed to complete a hat-trick earlier in the week when failing to take to the Fibresand; finished well beaten. Not hard to forgive a below-par effort on that unique surface; 7f course winner should be written off here back on a surface that suits.

Like one or two in this contest she has a long and rather unappealing losing sequence to deal with. Well below form since returning from seven months off in three AW starts she can't really be trusted to end her barren spell.

19:55 Chelmsford City - 8 November 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Five of this field have been successful around here with a quartet having won over this trip and it’s one of that group in BROUGHTON EXCELS that makes the most appeal. He was only denied narrowly last time out in a bid to land back-to-back victories and off a 2lb higher mark can continue his upward curve. Knockout Blow is a capable but inconsistent sort so it’s possible that the main danger comes from At Your Service who shaped nicely at Newcastle last time. The best of the Phil McEntee pair could well be Split Down South who is still unexposed with Wild Flower sure to appreciate the return to the Polytrack.
