Horse silk
5/4
Rated 73 on the Flat when winning a 2m handicap on the Flat at Musselburgh last month, so obviously has some ability; this isn't the toughest of contests and although he may want further in time, chances here if jumping fluently.
2
Horse silk
50/1
Only had the four starts and improved plenty for a step up in trip on the last of them at Catterick, although to put that into context, he finished third off a mark of 46; may do better for hurdles but a tough looking task here.
3
Horse silk
150/1
No great shakes on the Flat, rated just 45, and did little to think he's going to be much better over hurdles when a well beaten sixth here last month; tongue-tie tried now, but it needs to spark huge improvement.

80/1
Yet to so much as hit the places in ten starts under all codes but there was at least a modicum of ability shown in his hurdles debut at Wetherby last month, weakening late; needs to finish off better to have a chance of the places here.

11/1
Put in a much improved performance to make all the running at Catterick on the flat last month (rated 52), headgear seemingly doing the trick; visor swapped for cheekpieces now, related to winning hurdler Always Resolute, and must have chances here.

Neileta22

40/1
Did win over 10f at Ayr in the summer, so ought to have the requisite stamina for hurdling, but that was on much quicker ground and there wasn't a lot to shout about on his hurdles debut at Wetherby last month. Watching brief advised at present.

Horse silk
Rent's Dew24
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: C O'Farrell| T: T D Easterby
66/1
Half-brother to staying handicapper Dew Pond; barely beat a horse home in five starts on the Flat and the switch to hurdles looks more in hope than anything;

Tabou Beach Boyp18
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Nathan Moscrop(3)| T: R Menzies| OR:  104
5/1
Rated just 52 on the Flat and has already had a couple of hurdles starts, finishing second over C&D last time out but beaten 32l in the process; likelihood is he needs to improve a little here, and others preferred for win purposes.
9
Horse silk
15/2
Low grade on the flat (rated just 45), ran okay at Fakenham on hurdles debut, although well beaten at the death; needs more here but yard still having winners, and she can't be totally discounted if improving for that experience.
Not up to much on the Flat but hurdles debut behind the useful Nordano at Chepstow last month was an awful lot better, stayed on nicely late; repeat of that alone would give her chances, and she may well improve on it. Looks one to be interested in.

Forecasts

Beechwood Jude (5/4), Soft Summer Rain (3/1), Tabou Beach Boy (5/1), Juals Spirit (15/2), Gordalan (11/1), Neileta (40/1), Fasterkhani (50/1), Rent's Dew (66/1), Geyser (80/1), George Hastings (150/1)

SOFT SUMMER RAIN showed more than enough on her hurdles debut at Chepstow to think she's got a future at the game, and getting a useful 7lb here just about swings the vote her way. Gordalan has the scope for hurdles too and given the way he won at Catterick last month, comes into this in good heart; a clear round could see him in the places at worst. Beechwood Jude would be the best of these on the Flat but this might not be a stiff enough test on debut; though warrants respect all the same.
  1. Soft Summer Rain
  2. Gordalan
  3. Beechwood Jude
