Made all over 5f from a good draw here last time in first-time blinkers (trainer has a good record when applying headgear) to regain the winning thread. Headgear needs to work again; she also needs to prove herself over 6f under a 6lb penalty.

Well below form since winning over 6f at Leicester in April in a first-time hood (not worn since). Looked rusty on her stable debut last time back from three months off; has something to prove at the moment versus some near the top of their game.

6f winner earlier in the tear at Nottingham but is without a win since although the 5f he's run over for his last three starts does look a little too sharp. Coped well enough with 5f last time behind Mercenary Rose; may well reverse the form at 6f.

Without a win this year but really has been knocking at the door of late with three consecutive runner-up slots in his form figures. Suffered a poor run last time over 6f at Chelmsford (winner got first run); big chance to make amends off this mark.

Still searching for his first win of the year having on the positive side slipped below his last winning mark but ran not sort of race at here last time over 5f to present a negative view. The move back to 6f may help; has work to do on balance.

Bounced back to form on his penultimate start to register his third win of the year and his second at Bath over sprint trips. Ran respectably last time; still looks on a fair mark, acts well enough on Polytrack, suited by the return to 6f.

Arrives in good form and just a 1lb above his last winning mark returning to the AW for the first time since April. Yet to reach the frame on Polytrack though and the chances are that he will find a few of these able to cope better with the test.

C&D novice winner on her third start dropping back to this trip for the first time but only seen once since when making little impression on her handicap debut. Returns from a long absence against some race-fit rivals with something to prove.

Forecasts

Mercenary Rose (11/10), Benny And The Jets (9/2), Excellent George (15/2), Last Page (8/1), Big Lachie (10/1), Spanish Star (14/1), Velvet Morn (16/1), Youkan (25/1)

18:40 Kempton - 5 November 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Not much between the leading players here and the run of the race will go a long way to deciding how this plays out. Mercenary Rose is likely to go forward again and she’ll be dangerous if she’s left alone here although this 6f trip presents a greater test. Benny And The Jets third to her last time may well be able to reverse the form this time around with this 6f likely to suit the Kirk runner much better. EXCELLENT GEORGE deserves to win a race on the form he’s shown on his last three starts and this contest sets up well for him to do so as long as the leaders don’t get first run. Spanish Star can also be thrown into the mix in what is a competitive heat.
  1. Excellent George
  2. Benny And The Jets
  3. Mercenary Rose
