By Arcadio out of a half-sister to smart staying chaser Swansea Bay, and cost £9,000 last year. Others appeal more on paper, and this gelding may need time and distance to make his mark.
Alberto Giacometti gelding out of a mare who was placed in AQPS Flat races in France. Likely type on background for this sort of race, although yard only 1-55 in bumpers in last five years.
Full-brother to bumper winner Pileon out of a half-sister to useful bumper winner Naranja. Will stay further in time, but should be effective in this arena, and shortlisted.
Son of Martaline who was an impressive winner of a maiden point-to-point on his only start, and cost £160,000 subsequently. Has joined a yard with a 25% strike rate in bumpers, and appears the one to beat.
Out of a half-sister to smart staying chaser Otago Trail, and may well make his mark over jumps, but looks yard's second string on riding arrangements, and passed over.
Dam is a winning half-sister to top-class hurdler Harchibald, but she's not produced any winners from six previous foals, and this son of Scorpion looked limited when finishing last of 7 at Fakenham on his debut.
Dam was a dual bumper winner in these colours, and this homebred gelding makes more appeal that most, and represents a yard in fine form so far this season.
Flat-bred gelding from a capable yard which has few runners in this sphere. Dangerous to dismiss him on that basis, and merits a market check in the circumstances.
Has been struggling to get home in the point-to-point field (pulled up last three starts), and although wind surgery may help, he's hard to warm to on rules bow.
Forecasts
Linelee King (8/13), Frisco Bay (6/1), My Friendly Cousin (6/1), Falberto (10/1), Plenty In The Tank (14/1), Cardiff Bay (16/1), Manintheshadows (20/1), Mr Stan (20/1), Thestopperdunne (100/1)
LINELEE KING has been well touted ahead of his bumper debut, and this impressive point-to-point winner is almost certainly the one to beat. Frisco Bay and My Friendly Cousin make obvious appeal on breeding, and are feared, while Plenty In The Tank comes from a less obvious source, but has a decent Flat pedigree, and should not be ignored.
