Off the mark for connections at the seventh attempt when landing a Tipperary handicap hurdle in May; creditable effort on chase debut at Tipperary recently; should improve but needs to in order to land this contest.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: P T Enright| T: M F Morris
25/1
Decent 106-rated handicap hurdler; two chase efforts have been disappointing - unseated rider on first effort at Wexford but being well beaten at Punchestown on latest effort in June; tough call to say he will capable of winning this.

Had completed just one of his four point-to-point outings before no show on rules debut at Tipperary earlier this month; can progress but unlikely to be good enough here.

33/1
Capable hurdler on his day and won his fair share of races but latest form has not seen him at his best and hard to make a case for on chase debut.
Generally consistent hurdler in France in 2018 (considered good enough to take his chance in a Grade 1 hurdle); well regarded and should be ready for his chase debut; market should give clues to how confident connections feel.

6/4
After a promising start to his racing career at the end of 2018 he seemed to go off the boil on his last three starts over hurdles; certainly has talent and perhaps chasing will bring the best out of him; interesting.

Was a consistent bumper and hurdler which was to his credit given his breeding; Not disgraced on chase debut at Galway earlier this month and capable of progressing; one for the shortlist.

Slowly improved over his four point-to-point outings culminating in winning a four-runner affair when last seen out in May; should progress but hard to see him being good enough here.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: C Brassil(5)| T: J P Dempsey
50/1
Failed to complete any of his starts in point-to-points and had been well held over hurdles too but posted a fair performance on chase debut at Gowran Park in early October; likely to have come on for that and an interesting contender.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: D E Mullins| T: Ms M Mullins| D

Current hurdles handicap mark may have encouraged connections to give the gelding a try over fences; front runner who has ability but jumping sometimes let him down which does not auger well for his chase debut.

Shar Whats Therusht176
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: J J Slevin| T: D Hassett| D
28/1
Had been in reasonable form over hurdles around the turn of the year but ran as though something amiss when last seen out at Wexford in April; promising recruit to chasing but perhaps best watched on debut.

Forecasts

Dream Conti (6/4), Demain Des L'Aube (5/2), Salty Boy (10/3), Final List (7/1), Baily Gorse (25/1), Ask And Answer (25/1), Shar Whats Therush (28/1), Conright Boy (33/1), Our Big Red (50/1), Gold Sun (50/1), Captain Cruiser (66/1)

16:15 Cork - 20 October 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

DEMAIN DES L'AUBE is the class horse in the race based on his very solid hurdles form and if he can translate that to fences then he may prove very hard to beat on his debut for Henry De Bromhead. Taking too short a price is not advised but he appears head and shoulders above these rivals. It is hoped that a change to fences will rejuvenate Dream Conti whose last few hurdles runs were disappointing after previously showing some smart form. Final List will be better for his introductory run over fences earlier this month. Expect him to finish closer than the remote fourth he did on that occasion at Galway.
  1. Demain Des L'Aube
  2. Dream Conti
  3. Final List
