Better over fences that hurdles, winning here and at Leopardstown. Pulled up on two of last three starts, but he's over two stone lower now returned to hurdles, so could well be competitive.

Bumper winner who ran well when fourth in a novice hurdle at Punchestown in May, Made a pleasing comeback when sixth of 25 at Navan last month, and not overburdened on handicap debut for respected yard.

Ran badly at Galway on penultimate start, but back to form when fifth of 13 in a novice at Downpatrick (2¼m) last time, and has place claims if he can build a little on that.

Fairly useful over fences for Iain Jardine, but has been soundly beaten on both starts for new yard, switching back to hurdles for latest run at Clonmel. Plenty to prove, and sharp drop in trip not an obvious solution.

Still a maiden but at least as good as ever when finishing 1¼L third of 17 at Listowel on his penultimate start, and backed that up by filling the same spot in novice company at Downpatrick. Shortlisted.

Seemingly fragile, and just respectable efforts after returning from an absence last winter. Been given a chance by the handicapper, but likely to need this after another break.

Largely consistent in novice hurdles, and resumed on an upward curve when 3¼L second of 25 to Theatre World on handicap debut at Navan last time. That race has thrown up winners, and he appears to have a very good chance at these weights.

Multiple Flat winner, but yet to translate that form to hurdles despite flashes of form. Tailed off on handicap debut at Stratford last time, and hard to trust her after that flop.

His standout effort in this sphere came when 5 lengths fourth of 12 to Coeur Sublime in a juvenile at Down Royal last season, but the balance of his form suggests he's not well treated.

No better than tenth in a trio of handicap hurdles this season, and makes no great appeal despite his slipping mark.

Best effort when 2L third of 10 to Blackhillsofdakota in a maiden hurdle at Tramore in August, but he pulled far too hard in front on handicap debut last time, and was well held. Can do better, but must settle to be competitive.

Narrowly beaten over fences at Tramore in May, but has been a little underwhelming since. Better signs when fourth over timber at Roscomon recently, but must show she can back that up.

Some promise in qualifying, but only marginal improvement in a refitted tongue tie on handicap debut at Limerick last December, and has since left Gavin Cromwell.

Ran one of his better races when sixth of 11 to Effernock Lad in a handicap at Downpatrick last time, but he's far from reliable away from that venue, and was tailed off over C&D prior to that. Risky.

Off for 13 months before return, and had two outings on the Flat before an encouraging 11½L seventh of 25 to Theatre World in a handicap hurdle Navan last time. Not out of this if coming on again for that run.

Showed a bit in bumpers for Laura Mongan, but no form over hurdles, and fared no better on debut for current yard at Clonmel 9 days ago. Tongur tied now.

16:00 Fairyhouse - 12 October 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

THE ABBEY improved when a good second to Theatre World at Navan, and with that race already throwing up a few winners, he looks to be let in fairly lightly in retrospect. De Mazzaro is in a good vein of form despite his maiden status, and looks the main danger, although useful chaser Quamino and Noel Meade's handicap debutant Kirwans Lane also merit consideration.
  1. The Abbey
  2. De Mazzaro
  3. Quamino
