Won his first two before coming unstuck against classy Quel Destin and in ultra-competitive Irish dominated handicap at the Festival. This easier but mark may still be restrictive.

Set some stiff tasks late last season after winning a Newbury handicap. This more realistic now but probably needs a career best off the handicap mark at present.

Taunton maiden hurdle winner who went close next on handicap bow before also finishing second on the Flat at Salisbury. Sort to progress plenty this term for the champion trainer and fancied here.

Just the one win so far in an ordinary Wetherby score but outstanding effort on handicap debut to be fourth in Boodles juvenile handicap at the Festival behind an Irish 1-2-3 who all looked well in. Same mark here and a leading player for sure.

Respectable sixth in Boodles at the Festival last season (King D'Argent fourth) and won for the second time two starts later at Plumpton. Only 1lb better off with aforementioned rival so reversal demands improvement.

Well behind Torpillo at Sandown last season but won at Ascot subsequently. Well held on handicap debut in warm Punchestown contest but this every bit as strong.

Struggled with the 10lb hike dished out to him for winning by 10L at Newton Abbot last time out and in this considerably stronger race he looks up against it.

Won two of his first three over hurdles before disappointing when tailed off in uber-competitive Sandown handicap when last seen. Definitely didn't give true running there so the sort who could go well at a price here.

Off the mark at the fifth time of asking latest in a Newton Abbot maiden hurdle. That form a far cry from this very strong four-year-old handicap.

16:30 Chepstow - 11 October 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A race which sees several really appealing profiles can go to champion trainer Paul Nicholls with SCARAMANGA a seriously unexposed sort and one who almost certainly will end this season rated considerably higher than he is now. Leading the dangers are King D'Argent who ran really well at the Festival last March and Lucky Lover Boy who reeled off a hat-trick at the end of last season.
  1. Scaramanga
  2. King D'Argent
  3. Lucky Lover Boy
