Chankaya
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: J Mitchell| T: H Palmer
8/1
Cost 105,000gns as a yearling, fifth foal; connections know the family well, half-brother to their winners Aktabantay and Baydar (best at 1m-1m2f). Yard do get first time out winners but are 0-4 with them here over the last five years.
Poet's Voice colt, fifth foal and a half-brother to the yard's useful stayer Mekong. That gives an idea he'll want further in time, but on paper, looks one of the more useful types on show today.

Zoffany colt that has already had a couple of starts, running to a similar level at Bath and Salisbury. That form gives him a chance here but some of the debutantes look useful on paper, and he may be vulnerable.

Sea The Moon colt, cost 125,000gns as a yearling; sixth living foal. Staying will be his game in time but yard can get them ready for debut and if the market speaks in his favour, he must be taken seriously.

King Carney40
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: R Kingscote| T: C Fellowes
5/1
Australia colt, ran respectably on debut and then probably bumped into a good one at Newcastle last time out. Ground may well suit and with another step forward likely, is one of a few with chances here.

Mastercraftsman colt, cost €25,000 as a yearling. Pedigree a mix of speed and stamina and he ran respectably on debut at Newbury back in July. Not seen since then, and faces different conditions here.

Well down the field in two starts to date and in a field as hot as this one, will need plenty of improvement if he's to get competitive.

Nathaniel colt, fourth foal and a half-brother to the yard's sprinter Belated Breath; yard's tend to need the experience and on that, is best watched today.

Horse silk
11/4
Lope De Vega filly, cost 38,000gns as a yearling, second foal; makes some appeal on pedigree and yard have a 33% strike rate with them first time out over the past year; worth a look in the market.

Horse silk
12/1
Second foal; half-sister to the yard's useful 1m 2yo/1m6f Listed winner Vivid Diamond. This looks a suitable start point for her and yard are 14% with them first time up over the past year. Another to consider in a good event.

Forecasts

Annie De Vega (11/4), Damage Control (4/1), King Carney (5/1), Favorite Moon (5/1), Chankaya (8/1), Too Big To Fail (12/1), Crossing The Bar (16/1), Master Spy (25/1), Quickthorn (50/1), Molinari (66/1)

14:25 Nottingham - 9 October 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This could be a very informative event. King Carney and Damage Control are the two that bring the form to the table but it is not insurmountable form by any means, and both FAVOURITE MOON and Crossing The Bar are preferred. Preference is for the William Haggas representative who will want further next year but these conditions will place an emphasis on stamina, and that might help his cause. Too Big To Fall and Annie De Vega are worth a look in the market for support.
  1. Favorite Moon
  2. Crossing The Bar
  3. King Carney
