Returned to fence at Listowel over 2m6f where he was just 1¾L off the winner when finishing fourth of nine before finishing fifth of 15 at Galway over 2m2f earlier this month. Can be a leading player on handicap debut.
Course winner that has also won over this trip. Not seen since a 3½L defeat in June last year when in the care of trainer Alan Fleming. Entitled to need the run on return to action.
Solid and consistent for in five starts over the larger obstacles to date including finishing second of eight beaten ½L when last seen at Naas in November. Could be a big danger for winning trainer/jockey combination of this contest 12 months ago.
Not seen since pulling up before two out at Downpatrick in March. Win and a couple of placed efforts on heavy ground suggest the Beneficial gelding can go well here.
Lightly raced gelding last seen finishing fourth of 14 beaten 16L at Navan in March. One for the shortlist on return to action in this company with his yard in good form.
Distance winner but out of form since returning to the track in a couple of runs over hurdles within the last six weeks. Tough ask on return to fences.
Useful 111-rated handicap hurdler but has plenty to prove on the basis of his first couple of starts over the larger obstacles, well held on both occasions.
Has been left toiling in three starts over fences so far. Not seen since January and little sign of any light at the end of the tunnel just yet.
Forecasts
Russian Bill (7/2), Dawn Raider (9/2), Sir Bob (9/2), Allardyce (11/2), Court Tycoon (7/1), Spancil Hill (12/1), Bellgrove (14/1), Tongie (16/1), Golden Sunset (25/1), Deputy's Pass (28/1), Cable (33/1)
The trainer and jockey combination of Robert Tyner and Mark Walsh landed the spoils in this contest 12 months ago with the J P McManus-owned Dont Kick Nor Bite and the trio can repeat the feat here with their Morozov gelding SIR BOB. The seven-year-old has not been sighted since November but can still hold off the attentions of the Patrick Kelly-trained Dawn Raider, the returning Tongie and Russian Bill for trainer Noel Meade. Popular veteran Bellgrove should not be underestimated.
