Versatile sort over this trip and further, comes here seeking a hat-trick having landed his last two starts with positive tactics used both times. Up a further 3lb he won't mind the conditions or any deterioration in them; has a good attitude.

Back to winning ways over C&D last month (minus his usual tongue-tie, left off again); just 1lb higher now. Wasn't 100% when last seen beating just one home over 6f at Redcar; acts on soft ground but will need to bounce back to his best.

20/1
Veteran sprinter but has shown plenty of zip throughout much of this year landing two 6f wins amongst some other consistent efforts. Last two starts suggest that a busy season might finally be taking its toll; cheekpieces now return in a revival bid.

4/1
Has a C&D win amongst another course win; hasn't been disgraced of late (not helped by racing too close to a strong pace last time). Remains 2lb above her last winning mark; one of the more likely sorts in this given her course form.

9/2
On a long losing run but has at last slipped below his previous winning mark; recent efforts appear to see him just going through the motions. Not one to have much faith in despite the fall in the weights; others are safer alternatives.

Still a maiden (0-10) if a fair one whose got back to running respectably of late and appears to handle soft ground. Cheekpieces now on for the first-time in a bid to provide some extra spark; a mark in the mid/low 60's appears to sum him up.

Montalvanp18

8/1
C&D winner in dominant fashion building on recent promise when scoring off 1lb lower back in July. Produced a rather mixed bag over 5f/6f since then showing last time out that he's still capable of another win in this sort of grade.

Forecasts

Blindingly (2/1), Penny Pot Lane (4/1), Mutabaahy (9/2), Kaafy (6/1), Gullane One (15/2), Montalvan (8/1), B Fifty Two (20/1)

16:45 Ripon - 28 September 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

C&D winners at Ripon are always to be respected due to the tricky nature of the track which means that Montalvan and Penny Pot Lane especially should enter calculations. The former has form figures at the track of 421 and showed last time out that he was still in good form while the latter ran well in less than ideal circumstances last time. Some of the others such as Gullane One and B Fifty Two would need a form revival to take a hand and this looks a good spot for BLINDINGLY to bid for his hat-trick. He won’t be worried by the drop back to 7f nor any further rain off a mark he ought to be able to cope with.
  1. Blindingly
  2. Montalvan
  3. Penny Pot Lane
