Anglo Saxson17
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: S Donohoe| T: C Fellowes
28/1
A gelded son of Starspangledbanner who was never sighted on debut at Newmarket in July. He did improve on that at Brighton (7f, good to firm) 17 days ago to finish third of four but that still doesn't set a particularly high standard.

Horse silk
50/1
Sent off at 50/1 when finishing last of 10 at Ascot (7f, good to firm) 12 days ago, he needs a big jolt of improvement to be involved here. By Nathaniel out of a fairly useful 1m winner, he is likely to do better over further.

A €45,000 yearling by Starspangledbanner out of a mare who one once on Polytrack (1m2½f). Yard are in good form but have just a 4% strike-rate (4-95) with their juveniles since 2015 and is best watched on debut.
Cost 60,000 gns last year. By Maxios, his dam has produced five winners, the best of which was Group 2 victor Four Sins. Already gelded and hooded for debut, his yard have had two debutants win this year but they were both back in May.

Picked up earlier this year for 125,000 gns at the breeze-ups. Dam a triple turf winner (1m, firm) Stateside, he is by Oasis Dream. Yard's two-year-olds are running well, with near 28% strike-rate this season (16-58). Market will be informative.

By leading sire Exceed and Excel, is a half-brother to four-winners out of a mare who raced in these colours to win two Group 1 races. From a leading yard who have plenty of newcomers win but are just 1/29 in the last fortnight.

From a family this yard knows well, having trained three of his five winning siblings. Missed the break and hampered early on debut at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 55 days ago and is likely to have learnt plenty from that.

Cost €22,000 out of a three-time winning mare. Was too keen when failing to beat a rival at Chelmsford (6f, Polytrack) recently and will need to make big strides on that effort to be involved here.

75,000 gns yearling by Frankel; dam French 1m1f winner and sister to 6f-1m Group 1 winner Mastercraftsman. Yard can get them ready first time but are just 4% with their juveniles this year (3-77).

Dam was 6f turf 2yo/7f AW winner, including on debut; this is her first foal who cost 50,000 gns as a yearling. Yard have only had eight two-year-old runners this year (no winners) and will need to be fairly useful to make a winning start.

By Deep Impact out of winning Australian mare, he was an unlucky loser on debut over C&D (good to firm) six weeks ago after losing six lengths at the start. Should be sharper for that effort and open to improvement.

By Casamento and out of maiden mare; this filly was tailed-off on debut at Chelmsford (7f, Polytrack) beaten 32L. Would be a surprise to see her involved.

Forecasts

Maqtal (6/4), Kinsman (3/1), Zafeer (5/1), Sefton Warrior (9/1), Gigi's Beach (10/1), Anglo Saxson (28/1), Frankly Mr Shankly (33/1), Nibras Wish (33/1), Shoot The Moon (33/1), Flying Standard (33/1), By Jove (50/1), Fluttershy (50/1), Kates Star (200/1)

14:10 Yarmouth - 18 September 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

After an unlucky defeat here on debut ZAFEER is the pick to break his duck second time around whilst Maqtal is another who should improve on his first run after not getting the greatest rub of the green at Doncaster. Of the others, the pedigree of Kinsman is particularly eye-catching for a leading yard who won this race in 2013.
