Distance winner of a Killarney handicap in July beating six rivals 2¾L on good ground. Held in three starts since including when disappointing in a Gowran Park claimer last month. Liable to find a couple stronger.
Missed a lot of racing between 2017 and 2018 when in the care of trainer Simon Crisford. Last seen in December and one to watch returning to action on stable debut.
Fast improving Papal Bull gelding winner of his last three starts, all coming last month. Has progressed 19lb since first win and has a lot going for him at the moment.
Off the mark in good style at Gowran Park earlier this month in a 1m1½f maiden on yielding ground. Yard among the winners over Champions weekend and should be a leading contender.
Held a rating of 90 when in the hands of trainer Brian Meehan last year. Running well in defeat in three starts in the spring. Not easily discounted but lay-off a concern.
Missed a whole year before finishing last of 14 beaten 17L on return to action in a Killarney 1m handicap last month. Form doesn't warrant support here.
Looked to be coming back to form in a Listowel 7f handicap when third of 13 beaten 1¼L behind Engles Rock in June but has shown little in a couple of starts since. Plenty more needed in this contest.
Has failed to beat a rival home in his last couple of starts and overall record casts doubt on his ability to get competitive in this company.
Forecasts
Bashiyr (6/4), Charcor (7/2), Fastar (5/1), Zander (7/1), High Altitude (8/1), Master Speaker (16/1), Check My Pulse (16/1), Copia Verborum (20/1), Well Suited (33/1), Ask Katie (100/1)
The Dermot Weld yard have had 32 three-year-old winners on turf since the start of the season and the Invincible Spirit gelding, BASHIYR can add to that tally and his win at Gowran Park earlier this month at the expense of the solid and consistent, Charcor for the Jessica Harrington yard. The fast improving High Altitude and recent Curragh runner-up, Fastar appear capable of further improvement.
