Not the easiest to predict his third when last seen at Fontwell showed his better side although he remains one to be wary of for win purposes. Visor worn last three starts now replaced by cheekpieces (wore those for last win), care needed.

Usually leads but with no wins to his name since 2017 not one who stays there for long. Hardly appeared to be rejuvenated by the change of stable when returning from a year off recently at Stratford (shaped as if amiss); easily passed over.

Cruising Byet25
Age: 13|  Weight: 11-10| J: Harry Reed| T: P & M Bowen| OR:  97| CD
25/1
C&D winner in the past who has posted some creditable efforts through the summer without winning; manged to return to form last time when finishing third at Stratford. Only ran on through beaten horses last time though, others appeal more.
4

Beni Light5(ex 7)
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-10| J: Ben Jones(3)| T: D A Rees| OR:  90
7/4
Dual point-to-point winner who returned to racing under Rules with a fair victory at Uttoxeter (2m4f) for which he is penalised 7lb. Still looks reasonably treated; may be well be capable of better yet, this is after all a lower grade than Uttoxeter.

Put three fencing incompletions behind him when winning over C&D in July (took advantage of a much-reduced mark); travelled/jumped better than usual. Didn't quite live up to that form at Stratford last time, still one to include in calculations.

Horse silk
Nemean Lionp,t29
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-7| J: Thomas Dowson(3)| T: P A Kirby| OR:  94| BF

Only completed over fences once in three outings (not seen over them since this time last year); has slipped below his last winning mark. Running poorly over hurdles of late though and his jumping technique (in this sphere) remains unconvincing.

Captains Run78
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: Luca Morgan(10)| T: J Farrelly| OR:  90

Failed to make an impression when with Phillip Hobbs (fell on his only chase start), failed to improve in two starts over hurdles for his current connections. Back over fences and markedly up in trip he continues to look relatively modest.
9
Horse silk
Phoenix Rock55
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-1| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.(3)| T: J & A O'Neill| OR:  88| BF
8/1
Agonisingly close to breaking her maiden last time when second at Southwell having finished third on her two previous outings (travelled well each occasion). 6lb higher now but should cope with that mark; repeat of her last run would be good enough.
10
Horse silk
Heavenly Promiseh70
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-7| J: C Brace(3)| T: F O'Brien| OR:  80
7/1
Won chases at this level previously, slips back to her last winning mark starting out life with a new yard having looked out of sorts of late. Possibly that a change of yard could spark a revival, market needs paying attention to.

Buckeye Shanp,t126
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-6| J: Charlie Hammond| T: P & M Bowen| OR:  79
20/1
Won a Ffos Las handicap hurdle in July showing improved form in a race where few hurdles were jumped due to the low sun. Not seen to best effect in that sphere of late; fell over fences on his only previous try; tongue-tie goes on.

Ran better than for some while when finishing third at Uttoxeter last time (handicap hurdle) although that remains poor form. Now back to chasing he's not won in this sphere since March 2017, others make more appeal.

16/1
Form over fences has yet to reach the level that he achieved over hurdles although that was no more than modest. Well beaten over 2m4f here last time his overall level of performance makes him a less than appealing prospect.

Very little chance when running from out of the weights in handicap chases but still didn't sparkle when running of her correct mark last time. Still looking for her first success, that's unlikely to come here.

Despite the size of the field there’s not that many that appeal and this looks a good opportunity for BENI LIGHT to enhance the good impression he created when winning at Uttoxeter last time with the 7lb penalty still leaving him on a good mark. Phoenix Rock arrives off the back of some very solid effort but there remains a little doubt about her finishing effort and she may have to settle for yet another place. Heavenly Promise wouldn’t be one you would want to support on form figures but a change of yards may rejuvenate her and market support would be enlightening. Master Sunrise on his best behaviour would be another to include in calculations along with Walter Wagtail and Buckeye Shan.
  1. Beni Light
  2. Phoenix Rock
  3. Heavenly Promise
