Listed winner in 2017, and best effort this year when ½L second to Danzeno at Haydock in July. Below that form in Listed company next time, but may benefit from a drop in class now.
Goes well at Newmarket, and won there in April and June. Ran unaccountably badly in the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood last time, though, and needs to bounce back.
Now 3lb lower than when fourth in competitive 6f handicaps at the Curragh and York in the summer, and while he needs to be forgiven a couple of moderate efforts since, he's hard to dismiss from his current mark.
Returned from a long absence with a sound effort at Newcastle in January, but not seen since finishing fifth of 7 to Matterhorn at Chelmsford (1m) the following month, and easy enough to have reservations.
As good as ever when 2¼L second to Bedouin's Story at York in July, but flopped when favourite at Catterick next time. On a handy mark, but may not be one for maximum faith these days.
A winner on debut for current yard on seasonal bow at Ripon, and just 2lb higher now, but he appears to have lost his way in recent starts, and others much more convincing at present.
Better than ever dropped back to 6f on recent starts, winning at Windsor, and running well when third of 17 to Dakota Gold in the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon last time. Cheekpieces retained, and shortlisted given his good run.
Not easy to win with, but has shown himself well treated with in-frame efforts on three of his last four starts. Should continue in form, and this former C&D winner has solid place claims here.
Forecasts
Golden Apollo (5/2), Flavius Titus (10/3), Enjazaat (6/1), Citron Major (6/1), Medahim (9/1), Intisaab (9/1), Reputation (10/1), Battered (16/1)
CITRON MAJOR was no match for Dakota Gold at Ripon, but the winner has since completed a hat-trick and Nigel Tinkler's 4-y-o should make another bold bid. Golden Apollo is on a lengthy losing run, but is running well at present, and has solid place claims, with Intisaab another to consider now that the handicapper has loosened his grip.
