Colt by Helmet. Dam two-race maiden on the Flat. Closely related to multiple winner on the AW Navajo Star. Should come on for his debut effort at the Curragh in August. Unfancied that day and likely same story here.

Son of Palavicini out of a Invincible Spirit mare; never a factor on only racecourse appearance at Galway in early August. Entitled to improve but unlikely to be good enough.

First Thing20
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: Colin Keane| T: N Meade
20/1
Finished closer to last than first on sole racecourse appearance; stable's juveniles hinting at running into a bit of form and perhaps worth a check in the betting.

9/2
Has been gradulálly improving with each run without ever looking a likely winner; proven on ground and distance but suspicion is he will find a couple too good again.

14/1
Middle-distance bred related to many winners; stable certainly not firing out juvenile winners but still worth a check in market.

Horse silk
100/1
Has only beaten one rival home from his two outings to date and hard to see him making an impression here; type who will do better with age.

Horse silk
66/1
Not particularly well bred and comes from a stable yet to send out a juvenile winner this season; hard to see him being good enough but market moves would be interesting.

Horse silk
50/1
Slightly improved effort on his second racecourse appearance at Down Royal after spoiling his chances with a tardy start on his debut at the Curragh; one of the more interesting contenders if improving again.

Promising second of 14 beaten ½L behind Howling Wolf in a Leopardstown 7f maiden in June before filling the same spot under similar conditions at Galway in early August; step up in trip to suit and holds every chance.

10th of 14 beaten 12L on debut at the Galway festival over 7f before putting up a smarter effort when not beaten far into fourth place when stepped up to a mile at Bellewstown. Worth a closer inspection.

Sunchart

Cost 62,000 euros as a yearling; related to multiple minor winners; stable not renowned for its quality of two-year-olds; hard to make a case for.

Horse silk
28/1
Improved on debut effort at the Curragh, not knocked about when beaten to finish a creditable 4th in a Roscommon maiden in early September; entitled to improve but needs to in order to play a leading role.

Horse silk
50/1
Daughter of Mayson out of a Mt. Livermore mare. Closely related to six-time winner in Hong Kong, between 7f and 1m. Ran green but showed some promise on debut at Roscommon on debut in August; should progress and step up in trip should suit.

Has showed signs of ability on both her racecourse appearances with every being a threat; no reason why she can't improve but will need to do so to be able to land this contest.

13:55 Listowel - 12 September 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

SANTIAGO is likley to be popular in the betting ring and there has been plenty to like about his two racecourse appearances to date where he has finished runner-up. This does not look a great contest and connections would probably be surprised if he is not capable of landing this. Benignitas has a couple of runs under her belt now and is capable of improving again while Spiritual Son is another who has stepped up with each appearance and holds definite place claims. Another candidate for minor honours is Grey Serge who seems to be slowly getting the hang of things.
