12/1
Half-brother to Ribchester; still seeking his first career success but has proved ultra-consistent in defeat (2,2,3,2); beaten a short-head by the Mark Johnston-trained Huraiz in a Newmarket novice (6f, good to firm) just under three-weeks ago.

Great Ambassador40
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Harry Bentley| T: R M Beckett| OR:  87| BF
12/1
Twice a beaten favourite, but has been firmly the mix on all three starts so far (6f-7f) including when third to Persuasion at Goodwood (7f, good to firm) six-weeks ago; no reason as to why another bold bid shouldn't be on the cards.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: R L Moore| T: A P O'Brien| OR:  96

Broke his duck over 6f at Naas (runner-up a subsequent winner); has progressed steadily since into Listed and Group contests, caught close home after looking all over the winner in the Acomb Stakes at York (7f, good); the principal Ballydoyle hope.

Highly tried and has generally came up short of the mark since finishing second to Siskin in the Listed Marble Hill Stakes at The Curragh (6f, good to firm) in May; stablemate of Harpocrates and Pistoletto.

Winner of his first couple of starts (5f); has unsuccessfully contested Group races since, namely the Anglesey Stakes (6½f) and the Gimcrack (6f); couldn't be totally discounted, albeit it's noted that his optimum trip isn't immediately clear.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Andrea Atzeni| T: K A Ryan| OR:  101| BF

310,000gns yearling; impressive when winning on debut at York (6f, good to firm) in May; hit the frame (third) behind Threat in the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes on the Knavesmire latest; the form-based pick of the Kevin Ryan trio; key player.

Placed on both starts to date, including when runner-up to Three Coins in a Class 4 Thirsk novice (6f, soft) 27 days ago; trainer Kevin Ryan holds a much stronger chance with Repartee (and also saddles Byline).

Off the mark at the fourth attempt earlier this month when making all to justify favouritism in a four-runner Brighton novice (7f, good to firm); this race is much more competitive; one of three declared runners for Richard Hannon.

Manigordo61
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: P J Dobbs| T: R Hannon
14/1
Improved markedly on his debut effort when going down fighting (always in the van) to the Mark Johnston-trained Kingbrook at Ascot (7f, good to firm) in July; further progress is possible off a 61-day absence; Hannon's best chance.

Twice a winner so far, including when bossing a Class 4 Goodwood nursery (7f, good) from the outset three-weeks ago; likely to find those tactics difficult to deploy in a stronger and more competitive contest.

Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: L Dettori| T: J P O'Brien| OR:  97

425,000gns yearling; Fairyhouse fillies' maiden winner (6f, good); runner-up, but no match whatsoever for the Aidan O'Brien-trained Love in the Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown (7f, good) in July; interesting to see Dettori booked.

Pacy War Command colt; wasn't for pegging back when making all to score at Newbury (7f, good) on his second start, but folded tamely when a beaten 11-10f at Kempton; one of three declared runners for Richard Hannon.

Made a pleasing start to his racing career when picking up strongly from off the pace to finish a closing second to Golden Dragon in a Class 5 novice at Windsor (6f, good to firm); is noteworthy in an admittedly much stronger contest.

Carlisle debut winner (5f) who has subsequently been placed in Listed company (Sandown); best of the rest behind the runaway 11L winner Mums Tipple in the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes at York (6f, good) latest.

Swinley Forestp12
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: Jason Hart| T: B J Meehan| OR:  76| BF
100/1
Has plenty of early pace, but hasn't quite lasted over 7f on his last couple of starts - beaten just over 1L by the Godolphin-owned Imperial Empire in a Sandown nursery latest; faces a very tough task against this level of opposition.

Toro Strike42
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: T Hamilton| T: R A Fahey| OR:  90

Thirsk maiden winner (6f, good), and a stablemate of National League; improving steadily with experience; in contention until very late in the piste (third) in a 7f Class 2 nursery at Goodwood (good) six-weeks ago.

War Stormp18
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: Hollie Doyle| T: A Watson| OR:  88

A likeable juvenile; back to winning ways when bravely landing the odds in a four-runner Yarmouth nursery (6f, firm) 18 days ago; has earned a crack at a stronger contest, albeit will probably be found wanting.

When Comes Hereb121
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: F Norton| T: A M Balding| OR:  78| BF
100/1
Has plenty to find with Repartee on the basis of York form (6f, good to firm) but his lack of positive momentum since is much more of a concern; is very difficult to fancy, even in newly-applied headgear; stablemate of King's Lynn.

Glasvegas85
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-6| J: David Egan| T: K Dalgleish| OR:  99

Caught the eye (and surprised plenty) when a fast-finishing third in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot (5f, soft); off since (85 days) and now encounters different ground conditions (did win on good to firm); should stay 6½f.

Skontonovski20
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-6| J: M Dwyer| T: R Spencer| BF

Green on Newmarket debut; clearly knew what was expected of him next time at Ffos Las (7½f, good), only tying up late to be run down by Tritonic; dips his toe into stronger company here, but the shorter trip (6½f) is an obvious plus.

15:15 Doncaster - 12 September 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A very competitive affair. Aidan O'Brien saddles three-runners, of which the Acomb Stakes second Harpocrates is clearly the principal hope, while son Joseph relies upon the filly Unforgetable who has the services of Frankie Dettori in the saddle. Glasvegas is lowly-weighted for his return to action and should stay this 6½f trip, with some of the more interesting 'outsiders' being Manigordo, Toro Strike and King's Lynn. However, the advice is to stick with the Gimcrack third REPARTEE who was an exciting debut winner and represents a trainer who always commands the utmost respect in these valuable juvenile contests.
  1. Repartee
  2. Harpocrates
  3. King's Lynn
