Stepped up on return when 2L fourth at Doncaster (6f) in May, but finished well held at York in June and he's been absent since. Others appear more appealing.
Running well in defeat since latest win at Haydock (6f) in July. Possible that first-time cheelkpieces might eke out a bit more from him, and high on the shortlist.
Improving sort who has now won three from five this season, and took his form up another notch when beating older rivals over this trip at Beverley last week. Sure to give another good account.
Scored on his final start for Charles O'Brien at Naas in June, and started off for new yard by beating James Watt at Ripon last month. Struggled in better company at York since, but this is easier so he can't be taken lightly.
Much improved in first half of the year, winning three times, but questions to answer at the moment having stopped as if having a problem at Chester last time.
Won on debut in a 6f novice at Pontefract in April, and back on an upward curve when landing a 7-runner handicap at Doncaster last time, having left James Bethell. Up in grade, but may do better now back in the groove.
Forecasts
Tenax (5/2), Triggered (7/2), Four Wheel Drive (9/2), Count D'Orsay (9/2), Melrose Way (15/2), True Hero (12/1), The Defiant (16/1)
FOUR WHEEL DRIVE is a really likeable sort who won a big-field handicap at Beverley a week ago, and will remain competitive despite a 6lb rise. His main dangers are last-time-out winner Melrose Way, who is the type her new yard does well with, and the consistent Tenax, who may benefit from the fitting of headgear.
